@holdingcompany actually, the standards and the difficulty of the tests and requirements of the us military make it so that only 3 percent of american citizens can even join, and only one percent of that original three percent can enlist in the marine corps. 3% of 307 million is a fairly low number, and 1% of 3% of 307million is even lower, you can't just be some schmoe and make it in. it takes a lot of dedication to do what we do.

My GT Score is 131. I'm a the owner of five dive shops and a dive boat. A former Marine. Because I'm stupid. What you could do is seek out a job instead of crying about people seeing if you want a job. That's all they are doing. Asking you if you are interested in the military route. If you do not wish to talk to a recruiter, then politely tell them that you are not interested. Some of the greatest people in the world are former military. Look it up sometime. When I walked into the Marine Recruiting office, my recruiter told we're not the Army, Navy, or Air Force we don't promise you anything, only the chance to become a US Marine. I never got a signing bonus in fact we never discussed anything of the sort. Out of all the recruiters from the armed services the Marines are truly the most professional and are gentlemen. I'm currently in college going in as a reservist and may pursue a commision.
I was a Marine infantryman for 6 yrs then had to recruit for the last 2 yrs of my second enlistment (shortly after returning from Afganistan and served in Iraq as well), I never met a kid/applicant that had enough balls to disrespect me to my face...only on the phone...little pussies. I learned to look at America in a different way after recruiting...does America deserve the protection of it's fine warriors? Perhaps the country does but the pussies living here should get the fuck out!!!
I got a 78 on my practice test and my recruiters were practically salivating. They probably didn't call him again because its usually pretty obvious if someone is serious about joining or if they were just thinking about it and wasting their time. I got an 80 something on my ASVAB, Marines liked me, got a MOS in the air wing. Never had a problem with my recruiter, my Ssgt even made sure i got the Mos i wanted. Just from my personal experience (with the Marines) this video is bull!

He ended up going there on his own free will because he lost friends there, but was initially refused, and then kept away in Okinawa before they gave up let him go to nam.

My nephew just graduate from Air Force Basic Training. It took him over a year to get in because so many young people are trying to come in the Air Force. My GT Score is 131. I'm a the owner of five dive shops and a dive boat. A former Marine. Because I'm stupid. What you could do is seek out a job instead of crying about people seeing if you want a job. That's all they are doing. Asking you if you are interested in the military route. When I walked into the Marine Recruiting office, my recruiter told we're not the Army, Navy, or Air Force we don't promise you anything, only the chance to become a US Marine. I never got a signing bonus in fact we never discussed anything of the sort. Out of all the recruiters from the armed services the Marines are truly the most professional and are gentlemen. I'm currently in college going in as a reservist and may pursue a commision.

I was a Marine infantryman for 6 yrs then had to recruit for the last 2 yrs of my second enlistment (shortly after returning from Afganistan and served in Iraq as well), I never met a kid/applicant that had enough balls to disrespect me to my face...only on the phone...little pussies. I learned to look at America in a different way after recruiting...does America deserve the protection of it's fine warriors? He ended up going there on his own free will because he lost friends there, but was initially refused, and then kept away in Okinawa before they gave up let him go to nam.

My nephew just graduate from Air Force Basic Training. It took him over a year to get in because so many young people are trying to come in the Air Force. So I don't really see the need for recruiters to pressure anyone. If you don't want to be bothered by a recruiter, just say no. But when they first ask, they're just doing their jobs ---- how are they supposed to know whether or not there is or isn't any interest if they don't ask?

@aggiedude10 I totally flipped when I heard that bitch say that the Marine Corps. is looking for unsuccessful people. WTF, I had much more choices in life than military and, in fact, the USMC had the worst deal for me. I joined the Marine Corps. because I want to be a fuckin' U.S. Marine and anybody who is going to pollute the Corps. with that trash can fuck off.

@estreet311 Lol. I laughed at that guy's comment. I scored 96% on the ASVAB, and it took me 6 months to get the Marine Recruiter to leave me alone. haha

First off there stupid. If they didn't want to join the military then the could of gave a fake number. If they weren't smart enough for that then they could just tell the recruiter "No im not Interested in joining". It's actually getting hrder to join the military now because theirs already to many people in the military and more people are wanting to join because of the economy now days.

heaven forbid you have to deal with a recruiter talking to you. Tell them your not interested and it will be done. In my personal opinion, i believe both young men and women must do something such join the military, to repay what their country does for them.

Yea seriously, All you need to do is tell a recruiter -no-, im gonna join the Army now, But like a year ago Army Recruiters were calling and calling and at the time i wasnt even thinking about joining so I just told them no i wasnt intrested and they stoped calling..i never been harassed by a recruiter, or anything like that.

Guess what! The reason you can talk, say, do, and think whatever you want, is because of US. If it wasn't for us defending our country, we would be just like Iraq or Cuba. If you hate the United States, our government, and our militray so much, then you are FREE to move to another country that can suit your needs. Lets see where else you will have this kind of freedom that us, service members, protect!

Iraq was never a threat to USA and it's freedom. And where else? How bout: England, France, Canada, Italy, Malta, Spain. Brazil. Argentina, Morocco, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Montenegro, Germany, Scotland, Iceland, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Ireland, N. Ireland, Wales, Poland, Chile, Bosnia Hercegovina, Croatia, Turkey, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, Holland, Portugal, just to mention a few. Need more countries?
