  • Speed buggy.. my childhood inspiration to build a Meyers Manx.

  • Before Herbie the Love Bug, there was Speed Buggy? Or did the two debut around the same time, or did Speed Buggy come after Herbie?

  • @ztslovebird Herbie debuted first in a 1969 Disney movie. Speed Buggy didn't arrive until 1973.

  • i cant get this laughter off my face

  • I had a Speed Buggy lunchbox. Vrooma Zoom Zoom

  • Did ya noticed that When the toon is about a group of teens there's a leader, a girl, a brainy kid, and a comic refief and the show's namesake which is a talking dog or car or a genie.

  • That's one big intro

  • The CaRtOon Version of Wonderbug and just as cool.

  • Phfff Phffff halp some black guy stuck a banana up my ass Phffff .

  • My favorite cartoon

  • they should put speed buggy in cars 3

  • @SpinnersProduction And the kids of today would say "who is speed buggy i don't know him"

  • He looks almost exactly like Shaggy.

  • @abbyxxoo ever see that ep of HarveyBirdman? golden.

  • It's Mel Blanc!

  • SUCK IT! haha

  • speed buggy, hong kong fui, fat albert, scooby doo......man i miss my childhood.

  • Lol he always sounded like he was backfiring

  • why do they look and sound like scooby doo characters

  • Suck it! Suck it! Speed Buggy. LOL

  • i love that trumpet lick

  • yeah, who put antifreeze in Speedbuggys carb. Speedbuggy is air-cooled. prrrt prrrt prrrrt

  • @jimandskittum Yeah....I was quite bothered by that as well!

  • saturday morning in my pajamas with the feet hanging out eating cereal and watching cartoons from 6am to 12pm oh those were the days i'm glad i was born in the 70's

  • @4life1971 exactly ...i wish i could go back to 1974 again and just stay a kid...saturday mornings are nothing like the 60's and 70's!!

  • @4life1971 i agree 100 percent

  • speed buggy has a case of bad gas

  • @KennySherman

    where do u see shaggy?

  • I miss Speed buggy and all of the Sat. Morning cartoons, it was so much better then what is on tv now.

  • i love boomerang and old school cartoons.

  • I loved this cartoon soooo much at cartoon network!! and I used to prefer it in english, in french it was lame.

  • I loved meth-buggy. did he ever come back from that level of use.?

  • The day cartoons go to hell is when they do a Grey's Anatomy or Twilight toon.

Give a thumbs up if you agree...

  • I will say that Speed Buggy is a zillion times better than that lame Plastic Man toon of the late 70's.

  • i almnost 4 got about this,,,,,wow...

  • I remember this as a child. A car that licked you........strange.

  • @pazzensutra There was a 70's cartoon called "Rickety Rocket" which was even weirder than Speed Buggy. Black teens flying around in a BLACK SPACESHIP (if you can imagine that) complete with big boot-lips and a voice like Redd Foxx. (Big-time racial stereotyping going on IMHO!)

  • Apparently The Series is coming out on MOD-DVD(Manufacture On Demand) in early 2011 from Warners. Sadly only available for sale in the US. I'm Canadian *Sigh*

  • the good ol days...!!!

  • are there any full episode???

  • Yeah me too, get up as early as 5 or 6 then flip channels wathing cartoons till about 12 Noon, and don't forget the Live action shows that came on Saturday mornings also, like Tarzan, the Lone Ranger and Batman, Shazam and Isis

  • WOW, Talk about a flashback

  • "Tinker?"

    "yeah?"

"Why did you give this car a tongue?1?"

  • Hanna-Barbera mustve been pretty bold to use the same formula for alot of their shows

  • @Virgil077

Why fix what's not broken? This formula obviously made them lots of money, and most of them were quite entertaining.

  • I more like Wacky Racers :D

  • There's always a Shaggy guy, a Daphne girl and a Fred guy.

  • 1970s saturday was all about the cartoons and the cereal. You would wake up at 730 and watch them until 12PM eating your TRIX or Captain Crunch or Count Chocula or Fruit Loops, etc. It would be good to see more of these cartoons released on dvd. I have over 30 cartoons series on dvd. It is great re-living your child hood.

  • @youngercga1968 Oh man, you sound just like me! I grew up in the 1970s (I was born in 1969) and I too watched saturday morning cartoons while eating bowl after bowl of my favorite breakfast cereals (Trix, Frankenberry, lucky charms, etc), only I'd get up much earlier like as early as 5am. I didnt want to miss ANY of my cartoons, and I did indeed watch them until around 12pm in the afternoon when they came to a stop. The 1970s was the golden age of saturday morning cartoons.

  • @youngercga1968 Then you'd play with your friends on yer Big Wheel or Green machine till 8 or 9pm. No video games to get glued on! Some of my friends had Simon or head to head football but that was pretty rare.

  • @youngercga1968 And don't forget the toy comercials of all the crap you wanted for Christmass. Starwars toys, bionic man action figures, the stretch "X" and stretch monster, micronughts, and weeble-wobbles!

  • @Pynaegan Stretch Armstrong...lol. You can't forget the 12 in tall massive Amazing Energized Spiderman figure. Can you believe they made one of the Green Goblin?

  • Is this show on DVD? I saw it in cable repeats years ago and it wasn't half-bad.

  • Totally forgot bout Speed Buggy, loved this show back in the day.

  • He he the buggy have funny voice!

  • I didn't like this cartoon. The constant sputtering was annoying.... besides it shouldn't be sputtering like that... And how did he achieve intelligence? It comes in the chassis I guess?

  • @uselessman73 hmm it was a childs cartoon? how do any childs cartoon characters achieve intelligence.........u r useless.

  • The guy dressed in white was black when the Speed Buggy gang appeared on Scooby Doo... WHY?

  • @DrGregoryHouseIT Maybe you're thinking of a different car. I know there was a black guy in "Wonder Bug."

  • @DrGregoryHouseIT he was of Indian decent in the show, for some reason they only showed him with dark skin that one time.

  • When I was young I can still remember when this was advertised as a new upcoming cartoon. I couldn't wait for this to hit the air!

  • I know I'm gonna be in the minority here but I never could get the point of this toon. Don't get me wrong - I love the classics & many'll say this's one of em but it never was my cup of tea imo.

Wish CN & Boomerang would air episodes of the old Challenge of the GoBots toon from the mid 80s. I was more in tune w/that than I was w/Speed Buggy.

  • looooooooooovee Speed Buggy....He was my hero of the 70's cartoon era....ROMA RUMA ROOMA ZOOOOOOM ZOOOM ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM

  • They made Tinker look too much like Shaggy.

  • hahaha I remember this one too those Hanna Barbera cartoon were so good

  • habia una serie parecida a esta pero era con una moto q luego se transformaba en una supermoto saben cual es esa serie

  • speed buggy is cute

  • this guy mark is white in this cartoon but in the crossover of the new scooby doo movies he is not white he has Indian color skin Lol

  • @estoycraze oh and the car has teeth is aw it on tv today

  • This was my cartoon. Time has given me a swift ass-kicking.

  • Tinker looks alot like Shaggy. Could They be related?

  • @Pinhead554 Tinker reminds me more of Gomer Pile

  • Awesome memories. ^^

  • IT'S VERY NICE THE CAR!!!!

  • I used to enjoy watching this show when I was a kid. The thing I remomber most about the show is that a villian could control Speed Buggy with Tinker's remote control, similar to a villian being able to control Wonder Woman with her own magic lasso in the comic books.

  • i love speed buggy,i miss saturday morning cartoons of the 70s they were the best, not likje this crap that is on tv now...............thanks

  • Yes indeed, a couple of hours of toons before school, and a couple after school, and Saturday from 6 to 12, besides that the holiday cartoon specials and thats all we had. we looked forward to the halloween and xmas specials Peanuts etc. It was a big deal! Now kids have cartoons 24/7 and do not appreciate them, I miss Fat Albert, The Flintstones and Jetsons, and all the other Hanna Barbera programs as well as the Warner Bros. Looney Toons.

  • @9evilnine9 Why hasn't CN or Boomerang gotten a hold of Fat Albert now since most Filmation toons are in Warner's possession? Never could dig Jetsons.

BTW imo HB had some real duds when it came to toons in the 70s & 80s - crap like Clue Club, DynoMutt, Inch High Private High (aka poor man's Inspector Gadget), Butch Cassady, Trollkins, Devlin (what the hell was that one all about anyhow) & Gilligan's Planet. Not all HB's toons were classic.

  • @9evilnine9 Even latter day Scooby sucked especially that totally horrible toon from the late 70s/early 80s that was extremely dark & sounded more like SuperFriends (even used SF's music.) You know the SD toon that introduced Scoob's family like Scooby Dum, Scooby Dee, DynoMutt & Scrappy. Those were the darkest days of Scoob imo. Glad Spiderman & His Amazing friends recycled a villain from an ep of that crap show only to see it get killed off.

  • @9evilnine9 Another HB toon flop I forgot to mention was Roman Hollidays. I'm sure I forgot zillions of others.

The Jeannie toon was garbage too. I couldn't stand that Baboon dude.

  • @bucky468 its was baboo not baboon lmao!

  • Respond to this video...

what ever happened to fat albert or gazoo on fred flinston or even jabberjaw the shark i used to watch then religiously lol brings back a ton of memories hahaha

  • @theartworx I wrote CN & demanded they put Fat Albert in their lineup but CN never responded. That was a classic toon as was Filmation's Batman & Tarzan toons from the late 70's. I was into Janna of the Jungle. GI Joe's artists also did the animated artwork for that Godzilla toon (the dude w/dark hair & beard on Godzilla looked like GI Joe's Shipwreck & Aunt Quinn on Godzilla looked like GI Joe's Scarlett. Maybe those 2 characters were resurrected on GI Joe...lol.

  • @theartworx Do you remember G-Force from the late 70's? It evolved into a toon called Battle of the Planets which later evolved into Voltron.

  • Sorry for the long winded double reply but you hit the nail on the head. The greatest thing was Saturday morning cartoons, because that was the only time besides the holiday specials that my Dad who was the self proclaimed master of the T.V. (LOL!) would let me and my brother choose the programs the family watched, for a kid that was the greatest. Two words "Schoolhouse Rock" and yes, you tube has them as well as Time for Timer and the other Bod Squad videos!

  • @starfyre05 good thing i have boomerang channel i watch this every day

  • @starfyre05 its the government and "stepford wives". between being "politically correct" and the cookie cutter wives that stay at home worrying about every thing there kids see and hear its ruined cartoons.

  • @starfyre05 These are crap too, we just have fond memories of childhood. All the characters are the same in every HB cartoon, the jokes aren't funny and the animation sucks.

  • @starfyre05: THREE words; WHAT CRAP, EXACTLY?

  • @starfyre05

Yeah. Saturday mornings used to be special. Even the commercials were cool.
