I personally request that you bust out Octane Twisted el pronto !!

I saw the incident three times live - Warfield 09 - LA 09 - & Dallas 10 ... all three performances were absolutely stunning.... I truly regret missing them at the Warfield 10 show because they did the new setlist material only played a handful of times in 2010.... Anyway, Bravo man !!!

  • Nice cover! It sounds very much like the original :D Nice work!

  • This is such an awesome song!!!!

  • @orosia666 i just saw it in NY on Friday (14.9.10) ...it was awesome!!!! ...they sound incredible live .it is def a show not to be missed if you have the opportunity :)

  • I saw them play their very first full live Incident show, Seattle, WA.

It was pretty unreal. Didn't know what to expect, cause the album was barely released. PT are frickin amazing!

  • @airsteen That show was so sexy.

  • Hey guys...listen to some Goodbye Diana !!!

  • Hallogallo!

  • the best of Porcupine Tree... sure !!!!!

  • O.o It's good. Very good.

  • Comment removed

  • Intro sounds so similiar to Powerangers theme song!

  • true

  • @Morryjnr it souds like a part from dream theater's raise the knife

  • hahahaha powerrangers rule though, IM THE RED ONE!

  • oO nerd

  • its weird, the vesrion i heard from the signify album was different. and im not talking about the earlier signify song...

  • estos suena fantastico wow

  • The intro riff is a kind of riff that you come up with in the bathroom, while you're piss drunk and taking a shit. The rest was ok.

  • @Hverglemer jajaja thats so nasty man...but I didt that way

  • @zacre

    you did what?

  • Gud effort guys....well some songwriting and soul wud make the song open up....and raise other instruments too..Like bass or Rhythm guitar if there are any..right now its lke a Drum n Lead solo...Work hard on the compositiion ..songwriting aspect...Get sum nice changes in the middle...and SOUL SOUL SOUL...all the best :-)

  • @dzongrila lol, you're a twat, there's quite obviosly bass, if you still cant hear that then listen to the solo bit lol and the drums and guitar are just more prominent cus those are the only two instruments you can see :P

  • LOVE the solo in this... but from 1.14 - 1.50.. even though the synths come in... you still play the octave on the 7th fret of the 5th string like you were doing before :/.. still good

  • this band uses too much augmented stuff

  • 1:50 is my fav

  • My girlfriend and I just found out about these guys and they are amazing! We are totally hooked. Are these the real band members or other guys playing their songs?

And good luck to the KoiChannel guy.

I'll check your songs out too.

  • Nobody cares about your band, and spamming Youtube videos is hardly the most effective way to advertise.

  • sorry, i didn't think someone would mind. Well, care to share some more effective ways? :P

  • Get an ad in a newspaper or something, I don't know, it's just that spamming videos only serves to irritate people.

  • isn't youtube about spreading creativity? Spamming is a bit of rough word in this case?

  • Putting the same comment over and over on several videos? That's spamming.

  • well sorry for offending you...

we have recorded this album on our own for a year, worked our asses of day and night, we just want to tell people about it.

  • I'm just saying no-one's going to like you if you're spamming videos. It's just going to annoy them.

  • Koi, don't worry about these morons who want to pick on you just because. Obviously these people spend half their day surfing the Net because they've no life and no creativity whatsoever; besides they're just jealous that they don't have half the talent you guys have! So keep doing what you're doing and spread the word :D

  • Have anyone seen the Incident Show live ?

  • Yes, and it was fantastic!

  • @orosia666 Yes, and it was AWESOME

Going again in May to see them :D

  • @orosia666 Yes Feb 2010... Blown Away!!!! First time I've seen PT live... Best gig I've ever seen.

  • Yes i have. It is phenomenal

  • @orosia666 yep, and it was amazing

  • @orosia666

Yes, sure I have, i've seen them in Amsterdam HMH twice.....

Once the FOAB tour and the second time The Incident.

I can tell you, IT WASS GREAT!

  • @orosia666 I did, in Portugal, 20 of November 2009

  • @orosia666

    Yeah... it´s freaking amazing!

Best concert i saw this year

  • @orosia666 Twice :D. amazing, saw in Montreal in like May, and saw in cleveland 2 months ago or so. love em so much

  • @orosia666 i did

  • @orosia666 i saw it in san antonio, they played occams razor, blind house, great expectations, kneel and disconnect, i drive the hearse, open car, sentimental, way out of here, sleep together, then they closed and coheed and cambria came on

  • yea, progresive sabroso rock

  • really? i like a lot of this band's stuff but i see no instrumental difficulty in this. It's like something my buddies and I would just be fucking around with while getting drunk or high at the warehouse and then forget five minutes later and not care.

  • Doesn't have to be difficult to play to simply be a good bit of Music. A drummer would probably think different regarding some of the "technicality" as well (which this drummer sort of falls flat on in my opinion). Maitland was a damn good drummer, as is Gavin.

  • Man, that's awesome. SW has had me wanting buy a guitar for months now. I'd probably never be able to summon enough talent in my whole life as he has in his pinky though.

  • Kickass.

  • one of the best instrumental songs ever

  • agreed, simple but impressive and fun to play.....

  • /watch?v=vZfsyu9-Xsw

    :)

  • Great! The end sounds like Red of King Crimson :)

  • its is the end man...

  • Nice!

  • hmmm, compare the riff to Kyuss' 'Green Machine'

    HMMMMMM.....

  • yes it sounds like green machine..

  • yes it does...

But the chords however are set up to give a stoner impression for kyuss and a phychedelic aura to signify

  • very true, but I think that's a common progression in general really.

  • They are not to be compared to any other prog rock band, they are in a league of their own. They fail to conform and do not and will not sell out to mediocrity. :]

Other bands have their place but they are still producing and are culturally relevant.

  • Dream Theater are my favourite band, Porcupine Tree are also good

  • Porcupine Tree: My favorite band of all time, at the moment.

  • fuckin a

  • Hey!

I listened to YES, GENESIS, ELP, VDGG, GG, and alot of other classic prog since I was ten, and I recently found Porcupine Tree... I find them to be amazing.

May I ask, what albums do you have? :]

    -Joel

  • i agree with you in every aspect you mentioned.

  • I'm going to join Joel here, we're not all tone deaf, although to be fair I do agree with you largely :p

  • if this was the seventies right now pt would be a big hit like yes genesis king crimson but in today musis kids rather listen to bubble gum or rap music

  • @bauer444

Just wanted to say that I'm 17 and couldn't agree more, Porcupine Tree are my favourite band of all time. Seriously they could have been tailor made for my tastes, Progressive Rock with elements of metal, psychedelia and ambient, it's incredible! No one buys music anymore, no one's willing to take a chance.

  • @bauer444 couldn't agree more, right away i got their songs by albums :D

  • @bauer444 : Yes! If they came out in the 70s PT would be huge! In the days when people actually listened to decent music in the mainstream. The top 40 these days is garbage. The best music is not to be heard on the radio.

  • @TheAdam159 I stopped listning to the radio years ago, Most of these popstars today are just tools so they rich can get richer, they get used dry, and once their done, they fade never to be heard of again, but i'm pretty sure 50 years from now, when i'm old i'll still be listening to Signify

  • @Mayubix : Well said. I turned off the radio years ago and have not looked back. When you stop listening to what the media tells you to listen to, you discover your own music taste. Including quality bands like PT. The good news is, the disposable trash music will be forgotten as soon as its out of the chart. And the good music will stand the test of time.

  • I love porcupine tree. ^^. They are the greatest.

  • Very good work guys, wow.

  • that solo sound very nicely ... 5 stars

  • 4:52 ..drums very very cool.

    PT Rocks!

  • This song reminds me a bit of YYZ. It's a killer instrumental

  • Its like YYZ of Rush plus Red from King Crimson

  • Guys. Come on, enough. Must I always be the bringer of common sense? Music -thats what it is, music is generally for listening to not making meager assumptions. Let us coerce, if not just for a time, and rejoice. Reflect upon our indignities and slander and flush them away for the time being. Culture ourselves, not delve into primitive squabbles.Opinions are formed by questioning and it takes some sort of reasoning, whatever form it may be. It generally agreeable that opinions differ from fact.

  • You need a podium? Cause you deserve one! =D

  • hi i've just heard a rumour that PT are playing in ireland this year some time, could anyone confirm or dismiss this for me please?? thanks!!

  • just go to there website ;)

  • nice corduroy pants dude

  • Well, most of the texture and stuff is lost because its pretty much just guitar + drums in this vid, but the actual track is much more rich.

  • damn i hate it when a comment gets more than 5 thumbs down cause then it gets hidden and i cant read what some fuckhead wrote and try to destroy his life. damn

  • For a fact you can if you hit the reply button

  • Omg wtf shut up.

  • Excellent. Favorite.

  • that was gr8 a++

  • Amazing

    Pure Crimson´s Red

  • awsome!!!

  • fucking great!!!! yep Crimson influences for sure.... but arent we all influenced one way or another?

  • wow !

    great work ....

gotta notice the Crimnson´s RED influence, for sure, and, man, keep it that way !

  • Love this band to bits and all SW solo stuff.

Working my way back from "Fear of a " and have arrived at this. cant wait to here it all but .... Stevens' King Crimson influences here . "Red" shouts out loud here...Brill

  • which guitar+amp are you using orosia666?

  • It was recorded with a CortZ42 and a POD 2.

No amp used, it was in line-in.

  • nice!

  • cool song- never heard it before.

  • oo my god, good job, especially the guitar :)

  • It is a shame that the comments on this (and many many other videos) have to revert to comparasons with other bands, in this case Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater.

Is it not possible to like all three without having to compare them.

Just for the record, and to contradict myself totally I would say that DT are the most technically brilliant band ever bar none, Steven Wilson is one of the most inspirational writer/musicians we have ever seen and Floyd are in a class of their own.

  • agreed

  • same here

  • I totally agree with you

  • don't understand why you have so many thumbs down 2182248, you are completely right, it's totally absurd to compare good bands that doesn't play the same music

  • Bizzare that your comment is getting any thimbs down at all.

  • This isnt PT.Its a cover

  • The drummer isnt Chris Maitland or Gavin Harrison and thats not Steven Wilson! So if its not Porcupine tree id say that was a cover.

  • Noob.

  • Lol okey. My bad! I thought it was weird though. Chris maitland had long hair last time I saw him on youtube xD PT still ROCKS and this video is cool!

  • Hey, nevermind, and thank you for praising.

  • Hehe :)))

  • They make it look so easy, i wish i could play as well as them totally awesome!

  • Great Band!!

I've only known about PT since last Saturday, dude was right, these guys Kick Ass!

    Yall check YYZ Animation ;)

  • Real men surely aren't afraid to cross their legs playing guitar. They can spare a little bit of sex appeal when they are shredding. Evens it out for non-musicians.

  • Best comment on this vid. Haha.

    Track is killer

  • awesome!

  • the drummer is great

  • real men cross their legs to play guitar

  • Fuck yeah, real men cross their legs to play guitar.

  • Oh yes!

  • HAHA

  • Progressive Rock is the new age of Rock in 2000's years...

  • Dark Tranquility is hardly progressive. Yes, I've often referred to both as DT on many occasions. Both are solid bands but Dream Theater is most definitely prog, whereas Dark Tranquility is much more death metal than progressive.

  • powiem po POLSKU...zajebiście, pozdrawiam

  • dear god, this is so spot on, what band are you guys in???

  • Good job! :) Gotta love PT (and these guys ofcourse!)

  • i like pedal latent metal as well but i mean you cant be bound to one type. PT is full of ingenious lyrics and great riffs and can get real melodic and relaxing at times. either you enjoy it or you dont, thats the beauty of music, theres some out there for everyone.

  • very true, i think my favorite riff by them is actually the simple pre-solo to anesthetize lol...

  • you just cant compare these guys with DT.

ok someone put both of them in the box "progressive". but there so different you just cant compare them.

  • I agree.

  • woah woah woah. P-Tree rip DT,. P-Tree are so much more in depth and have much more musical integrity. DT is just a huge tech-head wankfest with no real soul.

    feel free to flame

  • yeah DT are like robots, tecnically are better than anyone, but this isnt a race. i prefer the voice of steven wilson. Floyd is another thing, almost everything in the PT concepts are Floyd related.

  • nice video... i like the video but i like poppy fields by merlinmoon a bit better

  • i know it

  • every single porcupine tree album is something else thats why every single one of em is better than the one before

  • who needs aggressive when you have very good? :)
