necrons are an extremely difficult army to beat if they are played well cause they are more resilient point for point than plague marines, especially if you couple them together with the use of monoliths.
I have seen a unit of necrons rapid fire for 3 consecutive turns on whatever target they are firing at and only lose 3 models in turn because there was a lord with a res orb in the squad and they were porting through a monolith.
3+ save with a re-rollable 4+ WBB after porting is nasty.
If a unit is still locked in combat with a secondary unit, then they can not perform a sweeping advance against another unit that starts fleeing. It also works the other way if 2 separate units are fleeing from a combat and you want to perform a sweeping advance against them both.
Basically, to sweeping advance, you need to not be locked in combat and you need at least 1 squad or unit remaining in B2B with at least 1 model from the fleeing unit to be able to sweeping advance.
I think Stealthsuits are a little weak. They've got great suvivability but AP 5 on an elites choice just doesn't cut it. They should have had a special kind of burst cannon or something that's AP 3 but only 2 shots, all the other stats the same. I mean come on, they are elites after all. Other than that they're great, fusion blasters are nice, etc.
deppends which army tou wont if you want aan army with a lot of firepower the tau is for you or if you want one with heavy meele weapons then the necrons are for you
Well i like shooting, but i see that necrons have pretty good shooting aswell from looking at their stats. Thats what's making it hard to choose for me.
well i am a ultra marine person mayself. heavy fire power mixed with good hand to hand abilty. the only thing that makes the necrons so good is the will be back rolls. an they are going to do away with that in the new necron codex
bootleg dale knows a web site that gave a sneak peak at the new codex. they are doing away with the will be back rolls. an doing up the lords like diff comanders.
i think the will be back roll makes the necrons to strong. to hard to keep killed. i play ultra marines an the only real diff between necrons an marines is the will be back rolls.
already, pointwise, necrons are more expensive than marines considering +50% for their wbb, x75% for phase out and x5/6 for the point difference. That makes it so necrons cost 10% more than marines all things considered. Thus marines are still better.
The new codex ought to strenghthen them, not nerf them even more.
FUCK YEAH! The Necrons wont do shit without that cheap ass We'll Be Back bullshit.
I run Tau and I play with my friend which uses Necrons. I HATE PUTTING SO MUCH GOD DAMN FIRE POWER ON HIS UNIT TO ONLY HAVE ONE OR TWO PERMANENTLY DIE!
i was wondering does anarchy mike have a necron lord that would be nice if you guys did a match like chaos marines vs necrons because i would like to see the necron lord in battle
no u cant i use space mairens as stand in but there was a time were me an mike was useing alies an i was mixing the 2 armys, but by the rules u cant raly do that an we have stoped.
lol dude the guy u vsed he played his necrons horribly just he has no stratergy. necrons are unstopable if you have the right stratergy for the right gametype. whoever read this dont listen necrons are a great army and somepeople have a bitch like this bloke cause of the will b back rule. what ever its awesome rule plus necrons have phase out rule so that evens it out with will b back so stop telling people rons are a bad army. dont misinform people
ok evrything except pariahs monoliths ctan's scarabs and tomb spiders get up on a 4+ at the begginging of your turn unless they were killed by a weapons strength that is double ur toughness like for example a lascannon hits you(S9 AP2) it is double your toughness so u DONT get back up UNLESS a lord with a rez orb is within 6" of your necron squad that got shot or unless a tomb spyder is within 12" of that squad bat thats a little more complex
the we'll be back is an extra saving throw where you get to try and bring your necron back with a roll of 3+ and it only works when within 6" from a res orb or 6" from a necron of the same kind
any modle that took a wound my roll a d6 an on a roll of 3,4,5, it comes back to life on a roll of 1,2,3 it is dead an removed from the board. this roll is done at the start the the necron turn not ,when they are killed.
Anyone care to share any necron tactics? Thanks in advance. Kindof a noob to necron tactics. I usually just shoot at the biggest and baddest looking ones and hope for 6s haha.
well it completely depends on your army... send me your army list and i can tell you what i would do. but mainly if you have a big army mostly troops keep them together. if you have mostly far range elites and flayed ones infaltrate the flayed ones and keep your long range at the back to take out the survivers of the assault. at least thats what i do.. and if you have a wraith or a lot of swarms keep them with what ever close combat unites you have... sorry if im not very helpful
basically, use your wraiths to assualt the scary looking guys, use the warriors to shoot at the weak ones and use the monolith to pull them out of cc so just prevent phase out and remember that necrons rule
ofcourse he beet you when you charged with the two fire warrior units you dont go hand to hand with tau kroot if you have enough they may be able to hold there own but firewarriors always get pwned.
i think (now i am not absolute on this) that in a sweeping advance, if it is successful, i think the victorious unit gets to consolidate? im not all too sure, but thats just how i take it
drjug i fell back more than his sweeping advance. what i was asking was should his troops still have move there 4 inches, instead of staying were they were.
Well, if necron won sweeping advance all your units die. The Tau fail to escape and the unit is killed. I learned that when i had my guards slaughtered by Harlequins.
great vid keep em coming a unit thats in combat with 2 enemy units and one fo them breaks he is still locked in combat and cannot follow a fleeing unit
Maybe next time you play against Dale you should use your tau lol. Gratz on beating the necrons, back when i still played they always gave me the worst problems.
I'm going to assume your very new to tau and didn't realise that tau don't do close combat, if your that close, rapidfire and hope for the best

can any1 tell me about the "we will be back" rule i dont get it
plz help
callof005 2 years ago
If a model of equal type is near 6 inch, he may roll a D6 the next round. 4+ resurrects the casulty.
There are some more rules about it involving items and special units, but that's the basic.
if a kill is in close combat by energy weapon the model may not resurect. same with instant kill rule.
CaptainCrunch80 2 years ago
ok evrything except pariahs monoliths ctan's scarabs and tomb spiders get up on a 4+ at the begginging of your turn unless they were killed by a weapons strength that is double ur toughness like for example a lascannon hits you(S9 AP2) it is double your toughness so u DONT get back up UNLESS a lord with a rez orb is within 6" of your necron squad that got shot or unless a tomb spyder is within 12" of that squad bat thats a little more complex
