There is no way to stpo an ice age due to the fact that it is the earths natural cycle to do so. We may be speeding it up a little bit, but its still not technically supposed to happen for another 50,000 yrs.

Fact is, a warming similar to the last decade, though more rapid, occurred in the 1920s and was likely accompanied by the same glacier acceleration. All before man could have contributed. In other words, recent events in Greenland fall within natural variation.
I can't help but think this is a boondoggle because nothing is really said that can't be said in America. Show us! Show us a time lapse video with stakes positioned to prove ice is moving at 2 ft/day. Show us the dying polar bears because of global warming. You know it is funny that the video starts out with a chunk of a glacier breaking off. These people apparently don't know (or are just liers)that glaciers are not solid. As a glacier builds up it pushes the edges further and further into the sea. So as it grows the weight eventually forces sections to break off. So in essence: glaciers break off because they are growing.

Well i don't agree with the thermometer locations at all. Scientists and geologists aren't stupid =P they want accurate mesaurments so thats what they will take.
Consider scientific defects: most thermometers are placed near cities which have increased pavement and buildings causing higher temps in the region (does not accurately represent the world) satellite temperatures (most accurate) are relatively new (not near long enough to understand climate changes billions of years ago).Factors probably remain still unknown. If you really want to BEGIN to understand the earth and it's climate, research such topics as (some have been mentioned): solar cycles, magnetic field, percentage of co2 emitted by the ocean(natural!), which comes first temperature change or co2 change, effects of deforestation, little ice age, also research the possibility that the earth cycle is at its highest temp BEFORE it recedes to another ice age,also plants may be growing faster because of increase CO2!

It's not about not eating beef, it's about knowing where your meat comes from. If you buy your meat from a local, organic farmer, then you are helping reduce greenhouse gases by not purchasing from mass market producers (such as Harris Ranch).

The ocean rise and how much is the big deal. How much is most certainly debateable. That it will and is is not. There are some Pacific Atolls that are going away slowly but surely.
There will be pluses and also minses to this. It goes both ways. The question is which one is worse and how fast will it happen. If it happens too fast it will be hard for many animals and people to adjust.

You can't go to Greenland and "witness" global warming. There's no context by which to judge what's going on. NWF is just hoodwinking people. Fact is, a warming similar to the last decade, though more rapid, occurred in the 1920s and was likely accompanied by the same glacier acceleration. All before man could have contributed. In other words, recent events in Greenland fall within natural variation.

Show us a time lapse video with stakes positioned to prove ice is moving at 2 ft/day. Show us the dying polar bears because of global warming. You know it is funny that the video starts out with a chunk of a glacier breaking off. These people apparently don't know (or are just liers)that glaciers are not solid. As a glacier builds up it pushes the edges further and further into the sea. So as it grows the weight eventually forces sections to break off. So in essence: glaciers break off because they are growing.

Global warming is real! Part of it may be part of the Earth's cycle but it is going 100 time faster then it has every done before and that is because of us Humans being greedy. If we do not act fast we will all be sorry when our houses are flodded... when storms become worse.. it has already started to happen. Just open up your eyes. Well i don't agree with the thermometer locations at all. Scientists and geologists aren't stupid =P they want accurate mesaurments so thats what they will take.

Consider scientific defects: most thermometers are placed near cities which have increased pavement and buildings causing higher temps in the region (does not accurately represent the world) satellite temperatures (most accurate) are relatively new (not near long enough to understand climate changes billions of years ago).Factors probably remain still unknown. Hope to continue the conversation with positive feedback if you agree or not. If you want change it takes compromises and cooperation.

Global Warming is not always taught in schools. My Physics teacher taught us the real science! The truth of Christopher Columbus is not taught to our children, why not science? Thanks for those who have actually given the scientific facts! This thread shows the weakness of our society. There was probably more curse words (POINTLESS) in these posts than actual scientific facts. How can we become a better global society if we can not even converse as educated people?

Now as to the facts. If you really want to BEGIN to understand the earth and it's climate, research such topics as (some have been mentioned): solar cycles, magnetic field, percentage of co2 emitted by the ocean(natural!), which comes first temperature change or co2 change, effects of deforestation, little ice age, also research the possibility that the earth cycle is at its highest temp BEFORE it recedes to another ice age,also plants may be growing faster because of increase CO2!

Global warming is a huge threat to the comfort of our life styles not now, but for the future generations.
Suburban Utility Vehicles contribute not solely but in combination with tons of other kinds of pollutants to make the air we breath toxic to us.
In combination with global warming we could potentially lose air quality to the point that you will have to BUY AIR TO BREATH.
Is that something you, anyone would want to do?

Solar wha? d00d, the sun is actually being DIMMED by the amount of junk in the air, or it was until the Clinton administration decided to set emissions standards (that didn't help with greenhouse gases though, so now we are getting more focused sunlight.)
