What a cool song. I always listened to the Manfred Mann's Earthband version/cover they did on the Messin' album. MME always improve the original ( like they did with Bob Dylan and Bruce Sptringsteen songs) but THIS original is awesome. I am impressed!
Congrats to the cool people Down Under. very talented indeed.
man I got to meet Taylor one night in Sydney while I was on stage blasting on my harp. He wandered up to me and the next thing I knew I was jamming with fucking Mick Taylor...1988, Landsdown Hotel
I was 14 in Croydon High School in Victoria when this was huge. I dedicated the song (over our lunch time school DJ system) to my girl George (AKA Georgina), but everyone thought it was some gay leap of faith. Anyway, gays are cools also. Old memories. Peace Out.
I saw chain in the basement of a department store in Perth, Bairds I think, in the Jeans Dugeon some 37, 38, 39 years ago, long long time ago. It was the first live band I ever saw. I was around 13 years old. The clank sound was made by hitting a poe (potty, jerry or whatever you knowit by, a guzunda). This track was the first 45 rpm single I bought, the second was turn up your radio by the masters apprentices. Oh the momories. Thanks Aussie Oldies.
when i first heard this song 15 years ago, I thought it was from some old black blues guy from america.Than find out it;s from a white australian guy-Matt Taylor. What a great song. One of he greatest songs from an australian artist-ever...
Thanks AussieOldies - I have been waiting for this for ages! My best mate's sister's husband used to be in Chain at some stage (for real!!!) - not sure if it was when they made this song or later - but love it!!!! Thanks!
I first heard this track on a flight back from Perth to Sydney. It was on the in-flight music channel and I sat and waited for it to come around every hour on the programme.
great clip .. keep it up thanks

@AussieOldies sadly under rated, ... and still not even half promoted on internet……bad management?
easy to fix that…..get another 6-7 millions views etc.
also the tags are terrible,….Chain Management get your shit together, like to know how?
just ask!
music is too good to just sit in related searches.
