  • I just meant to clarify the facts - that sadly it wasn't The Killers or Geldof's choice. Personally I would have had The Killers play on and cut all the other acts to follow except The Who and Pink Floyd. I'm just saying I can see why from their point of view they felt they had to save the 'bigger' acts. Shame though cos I could have watched the Killers all night. Sorry its my 3rd message but I really don't want to give the impression I am not pro The Killers!!!! Thanks

  • Sorry that wasn't my implication at all - I agree with you. If I'm defensive I'm defending The Killers! I am a massive Killers fan and would take them any day of the week over those other acts except maybe Pink Floyd. I was just saying it wasn't the choice of the band - or Bob Geldof's.

  • Why one song: The event was running behind schedule so they only let The Killers do one song. Geldof was furious and was screaming - no way- full set. Weinstein said there were major acts coming up that needed time. Geldof was overruled. In favour of the acts who still had to come on. Love The Killers but you can see their point, considering the acts were: Sting, Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey, The Who, Pink Floyd and Paul Mccartney. So - all clear everyone?

  • this rocks still now

  • Best song of the entire day.....never forget it

  • Only one song from The Killers, but what a song.

The best act by far on the day.

  • Genius... Wonderful... Belíssimo...

  • bit of dodgy singing 4:29ish...and all those singers there too.

  • We were watching this in our Modern Studies class. And when The Killers came on, I screamed and started hyperventilating. <3

  • the killers ROCK!!!

  • Brandon Flowers you beautiful man

  • Crap live singer. Good band.

  • @carlphone Great live singer, but I still think your are super cool.

  • @ChickenParmHero THANK YOU!

  • @carlphone I feel like he's much better live than on record. That is though...moreso nowadays. This video is old and doesn't show how much he's grown vocall.y

  • i was there! and i saw them in mcdonalds afterwards while the who was playing!

  • I think they chose to do this one song because it sort of fits with the whole meaning of live8 etc, "room for one more son" referring to the many starving children in africa, and how they need Gods help, which the song refers to a lot, but thats just my opinion :)

  • @sophieisahomo Why one song: The event was running behind schedule so they only let The Killers do one song. Geldof was furious and was screaming - no way- full set. • They only needed one song to blow people's minds. Gotta love that.

  • haha i was there!

and i can see myself in the audience!!

i remember that day really well.

  • Great Song!! Great Memories of being in London for Live 8!

  • a Killer chorus

  • Sexual song & performance.

But my god are the crowd a bunch of morbid buggers. Jesus. The most some did was just clap, the rest stood there like statues.

  • Stupid union roadies set the amps up on the wrong side :(

  • The Killers only need one song to out-bluster a whole set of Madonna

  • they´re so fucking good live!

  • this is a very special song

  • era en el 2005, una banda nueva pero con muchos buenos temas, creo que por eso solo cantaron esa cancion

  • first song i ever heard by these fooking love it.

    great band,brandon rocks.

  • I can't wait for 2025

  • did the background singer even sing?

  • @LERKAI So I suppose Canada, South America (the continent), the middle east, Australia and Oceania don't exist?? Or do they just get to run free in your perfect world where everyone dies?

  • Just like Queen stole the show first time around with radio gaga and the rest, there is no doubt that Brandon and the boys even though they only sang one song it was that one song and preformance i remembered the most, IT should go down as one of the best live preformances of the decade.

  • @OisinMac99 fuck you i'm a nigga and my cock is twice ur size while i maintain a higher iQ....

  • so weird seeing Marl to Brandon right and Dave to the left

  • amazing

  • arghh, mark and dave are on the wrong sides xD

  • brilliant although i found it annoying how smaller cheer they got ): also ow little people were jumping even though the killers are one of the best bsnds ever

  • The first time I listened to them. I loved their performance but I didn't know their name! I didn't have internet... A few years later, I watched Mr. Brightside on tv... Man, it was awesome! I became a fan... And then I knew they were the band I had loved in the Live 8! Now I'm one of their biggest fans. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

  • It seems like every performance they do is epic

  • FIT! Bless u can c when the background singers come on and the mics arnt turned on his face just goes like...uh oh...we'v screwed up :0 but he makes the best out of it, it was realy fab! xxxxx LOVE U BRANDON! XXXXXXXXX

  • i remember not know who these guys were but about midway through this song I was an instant fan. I bought their album the next day. Great performance.

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • Wow this is fucking awesome.

  • Yes i was there!! at the very front of the 'public' area against the railings but behind the 'golden cirlce'................PHENOMINAL !!

  • Well it seem, they were not so famous at this time.... but look them now... they are amaizing!!!

  • I think this is THE Killers' finest song. And a great rendition. Even Robbie Williams sung the hook (cheeky beggar).

  • brandon is sooo cute! x

  • He looks like a school boy........but no doubt, it's such a fantastic song!

  • @bobbybansal wish the boys at my school were that hot :D! LOL xxx

  • @scarletmoonfall oh yeah...;p

  • what a lame crowd, id be off my tits if i was there

  • If you watch this performance on the Live 8 concert dvd you can hear the back up singers.

  • God I love this song

  • this is a wonderful performance, but I think it would have been PHENOMENAL if we could have heard the backup singers.

  • shame that some arse backstage forgot to turn the backers mics on.....

  • what a crowd.... not

  • Time, truth and hearts

  • Ha! Backround singers mic's aren't turned on!

  • They are so pretty cool in White, Brandon makes white skinny jeans look soo good.

  • Is it just me or can any1 else not hear the backing singers at all! doesnt even sound like their mics are on! takes away from the end of the song imo

  • yeah i couldn't hear them at all either. odd.

  • im a puppet

  • Jericho!!!!!!!!!!! great band The Killers!!!!!

  • i love the guitars in this song

  • Best singer in the world and best looking also.

  • they are getting even better!

  • my favourite song ever periods peace

  • It was so much better than live earth though.

  • I can't even hear the choir people

  • but it is an adavantage ! ;)

  • eheheheh true

  • Madonna sucks...the Killers rock!!! great band!!

  • it was an absolute disgrace the way they were only given time to perform one song whereas the likes of madonna and joss stone got something like 7 or 8 songs between them

  • i agree

  • Killers had been around for one year at this point whereas Madonna had been around for over two decades, so yeah, I think she'd earned a little more time.

I like that, like Madonna, Killers did the all white with the backing choir; great minds...

  • @bowdenator but its reasonable,

most of the audience doesnt have a music taste or opinion, and look to mtv and shut eyes for music with soul, reason and performers that created the sing itself

    lemming-behaviour

  • @bowdenator they were given the choice they chose to just do 1 song

  • @BadBoyKennySharp Why one song: The event was running behind schedule so they only let The Killers do one song.

  • @bowdenator ...To be honest, given how comatose the majority of the crowd were, they (the crowd) didn't deserve any more than one song!! Sorry but London crowd's really need to re-learn how to let their hair down!!

  • @bowdenator I think they chose to only do one song.

  • @stargazer93 Why one song: The event was running behind schedule so they only let The Killers do one song.

  • @bowdenator They weren't given time, they just decided to do one song.

  • @bowdenator But this is so better!!!!! It doesnt matter how many songs, They rock with one song

  • @bowdenator dude I think it was their choice - and it was a good thing, because that one song was so good - it made everyone crave more - and that is the sign of true rocking talent!!

the killers did one excellent job there!! best performance in my opinion.

  • @bowdenator Use your head for pete's sake. A worldwide event with seven songs by 'bowdenator', for example...well, everyone would donate and watch that. This helped this band and the cause, which is a different story. If you have a brain then use it.

  • @bowdenator Everyone is dissing your comment on here. You are right! Running behind schedule they only let The Killers do one song. So all clear everyone?

  • @caerus12 Don't make me laugh. For the record I love some of those especially The Who and Paul McCartney. But you're posting on a KILLERS video why the Killers getting stripped of their set is acceptable. Then when people retaliate, you get defensive. Your implication is you like all of those bands/musicians better than the Killers, and think they should have time in favor of the Killers. I know this blows your mind but some people love the Killers the best- many of them are watching this.

  • People have a right to love a band and to be biased towards it... And the people biased towards The Killers are watching this. For the record I hate music by Justin Bieber for example but if I went to a JB video and bitched about it then I would simply be a troll.

  • Even now, thinking of Live 8 gets me so excited I feel like crying! It was just the most amazing day ever!

  • I find myself thinking the same thing. It was an amazing day and I feel blessed to be lucky enough to travel all the way to London and be part of it. It's a shame the politicians still haven't done enough for Africas debt relief...guess there just isn't enough oil there for them to care.

  • Oh, there's plenty of oil in Africa alright. Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, the Sudan...

Debt relief is a valid cause, but lots of Africa's problems are caused by African politicians and people.

  • totally agree coruption is the problem

  • That doesnt fix curruption. What do you think will happen when you wipe their debt? THey'll just start again if the same people run the show.

  • i love this song

  • I prefer Brandon (the lead singer) shaved.. gheee! :D

  • A CARAJO KE BUENA ROLA

  • great but those backup singers were useless, i dont think their microphones were even on

  • I agree, lmao.

  • you can't even hear them!! haha

just proves how good of a singer brandon is

  • beutiful song i love the killers

  • What a song!

    What a voice!

  • Gay isn't an insult, unless you also think calling someone "black," or "white" is an insult too.

  • amazing(Y) The Killers brought the whole crowd to life tbh.

  • I was there in T1,sheer briliance!

  • This performance gave me chills. I was glad I was able to witness it!

  • the only song they did and the only song they needed to do :)

  • They look sooooooo good in white!!!

  • the killers are amazing FULL STOP

  • this is such a great job.

    my fav. live period.

  • i agree lol. i love them so much, there not like all those singers who suck live either.

    love them! :)

  • Brandon is so friggin HOT dressed in all white!! :)

  • o.o they are the best :)

  • the background singers sound great, don't they? they blend so well, it's almost like you can't even hear them or something.

  • LOL!

at 5:40 it looks like Dave is playing a massive guitar. But it's the mic or something :P

  • lmao... I think it's a camera on a crane.

  • pora do karalho ese sohww

  • are these choir people actually singing? don't hear them at all!

  • Yeah, they're singing. When they played this song live, the choir's mics weren't working. I think there's a version somewhere (DVD, if I'm correct) where they fixed this problem. : )
