You have to have long, slender legs, and flexible hips. You can't be too tall, and you can't be too heavy. It is a lot about strength, but size matters too.

Chorus ballet dancers are NOT ballerinas. Female Principal Dancers, and those alone, are. Surprised if you have taken ballet lessons for so many years you don`t know what a Ballerina is.

Her name is printed at the top of every program, and the audience applauds when she makes her first entrance. She gets curtain calls and flowers. she has the lead in every ballet. This isn't an official title for that in most companies now, but to give you an idea Anna Pavlova and Margot Fonteyn were Ballerinas. Corps dancers are just ballet dancers.
