I started w/ a Novus Cx. I am getting ready to purchase a Blade MSR and was considering buying a RealFlight sim to help me be able to progress to a Blade SR Cp heli. Is this enough like real flight to limit my crashes when I do go to a Cp heli?
a simulator is definately the best way to learn flying. but you need to go with standard procedures. learn hovering with the tail facing you first. if you can do that, try it sideways. then do small roundabouts and eights. if you can do them you should find out that you can already hover nose in. and when you can do these basic maneuvers you can slowly start to do loops, flips and rolls.
it might also be important to fly with a model similar to yours in the simulator.

It helps if your helicopter is in 3D mode.
