Is the jumping picture a special effect or was there something very wrong with your camera/projector? Great video - just wish it wasn't flickering so much so I could see details. Cheers.
As you can see at the start of the 79 race I was on a flag point and I couldnt get to my car whjch was over at the Bathurst light car club, the other side of Conrod straight. to get any more film
The sounds of a thundring V8 at the end of the film is a Racing A9X Latham and Reed torana heading up moutain straight through to the cutting from 2004
yep, we the next flag point down from forrest elbow and I have thought of Dicks crash many times. In hindsite it wasnt a good place to film from. Now days its all concrete walls
God I loved those days. The cars all looked different from each other. There were races within a race, Ford, Holden & USA V8's, Capri's against RX3's and Celica. No bloody Safety Car coming out and bunching up the field.
Today's Bathurst races are no where near as exciting as they were back then.
I wonder if Murry Carter will enter next year, lol.
Thanks for the viewing. Wondering if I am able to get a copy of footage, as I own the recar and haven't seen much footage of it. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks
thanks mate, wonderful stuff
