so is it good for the traxxas stampede, rustler and slash all two wheel drive???i really want to know asap....thanks e-mail me at vctmas@yahoo.com or reply at my youtube account vctmas thanks again for the info....
can u put 3s lipo in it? i put 3s in it and the esc roasted in about 3 min the motor lasted a couple of days then the shaft can unglued it says it can handle 3s
my friend therustyfisherman has the 60amp version of the esc. He runs a 3s most of the time. The fan was fine. But then he broke a fin on it and the fin then cut on of the wires going to it. He took the fan off and it still runs cool.
Hey man I have a problem with my 35a ezrun esc, I think it overheats and just shuts off for about 20seconds then comes good, a green led flashes on the side of the esc when it stops working. I'm not really sure how to fix it, any ideas??
how do you change the motor rotation on the motor because mine spins the wrong way so i need it to spin the opposite direction and reverse is now foward and foward is now reverse. i have already tried changing the th.cont on my transmitter and doesnt realy help i do have the programing card but it wont allow me to use item 11 and 12
You can run the ESC with a 8 cell without changing the fan. Never failed here.
Now i run it on 3s lipo's. Changed it then. 9T motor in a onroad car. After 2 batteries, a 2 and 3 s , both 5700 mah. I can still touch it. It is warm. Not hot. Same goes for the esc.
Do you have an opinion on the Leopard ESC and motor combo also sold at hobbypartz??? They look decent, can you help me out here??? Thanks, and great rc vids and reviews on stuff!
I intend to get a brushless motor. However,I see different motor like 5.5T or 32T.What are the difference between the T?Does it determine the speed or anything?Which will be better?Higher T or lower T?
how come this thing is so quiet and mine is really loud and clankety i still am not sure if i set the gear mesh correctly and ive seen the how to video and gear meshing is just not my thing im afraid if i go to loose ill strip a spur and if i go to tight ill ruin my new brushless arrrg!
i'vr just gotten the 60A/8,5T combo in my gravelhound. So far I'm very pleased with the power. on 6cell NiMh it does almost 50kmh with the stock gearing and GPS straped onto it. However Iæve had some problems with smal rocks jamming the fan. When that happens ESC temp goes from 40C to 70C+ (I stoped when I saw this). That was Quite hefty running on loose sand though, It does not usually get that hot.
You measured the temperatures. But is there anything like a suggested maximum temperature at which a brushless,or brushed motor performs best, without overheating?
@wupperRC Usually 160 degrees F is about as high as you want to go for general bashing & practice. If you're racing you may push it higher, but 180 or higher gets you into the danger zone where the magnets may start to lose strength over time.
yeah i got the basic same except it was another chinese brand all it did was overheat even with a 6 cell nimh pack!!!!! then it finally burst into flames
the motor is actually pretty nice good for like hour long run times with a better esc
I have a 60amp 8.5T combo which has a true 540 motor on my slash and it's great for what it cost . the esc is excellent , it survived getting dragged 3 laps around the track when the servo tape came undone with just the fan getting a blade broken also it's always fairly cool. the motor however isn't that great but then again think about the modest price.
it also states right on the website that that motor is for onroad beginners. for 97 bucks theres a 4000kv motor for off road it's an 8t motor i think a much better test for the slash and still under a hundred bucks
@frogs84ss The folks who write such general statements as "for intermediate off-road" or "beginner on-road" use aren't talking to experienced RC'ers. What matters is not those ambiguous statements, but rather the actual power output and usable range of the system. As I noted in my unboxing video, I very specifically & consciously chose this system because I WANTed something of modest power, NOT something overpowered, for a specific reason.
@frogs84ss There are many factors that go into determining the actual power of a motor. You can't simply go by kv. For example, Traxxas' 3500kv motor has about the same power, if not higher (depending upon the version), as the Castle Creations 5700kv motor. What makes this EZRun 13T motor modest so in power is the small rotor. High-kv motors are difficult to impossible to gear in the Slash, so the best fit is simply something physically larger.
@JRockz08 With the kv as low as it is, you're probably right, just gearing up and staying at 15 deg. of timing may have allowed the motor to run more efficiently at peak RPMs and squeezed another mph or two out of it.
Great review! I'm using my first "budget" brushless ESC, a ZTW 60A that does sensored motors too. I ran it with 3S lipo as well as 2S with a 2700 Kv Feigao 9L in my Slash (great performance), and for kicks on 3S with a Hacker C50 3600 Kv in my Emaxx. Yup, it survived, if only because I ran it cautiously. The little fan probably saves its life more than anyone could imagine.
soory man but u tried one AND THE MOTOR GAVE UP ON ME WHEN IT WAS RUNNING LIKE 145 AFTER A MONTH SO I PRETTY MUCH HATE THIS youll see the motor wont last but i am ok with the esc
@STdemoniac Yep like noted in my unboxing video, this one is very clearly and obviously the small size rotor with large cooling fins. I'll probably try an __.5T system next.
@zagonielod No experience with that system yet This was my first "cheap" brushless system :) With the experience I've had with it so far, it definitely won't be my last.
i bought that system and the first week i had it the esc went out, i bought the 60a esc and that worked really well, but then the motor went out so i am not have alot of luck with this system

The only problem with the Ezrun 13T and also 9T its that they say that is 1/10 scale motor 540 size motor, but actually its a 380 motor with 540 can. that sucks.
So the Ezrun 8.5T (4000kv) its the true 540 size. i think that will be the best Ezrun motor for short course
ANOTHER great review! Im running a Hobby Wing system in my crawler (you know!), but I am unfamiliar with "timing changes".
