So how can a youngster can think of a director after being an assistant director for a year and half... Bhaarathiraja or Balachander has not become a director overnight They strived a lot to attain such a position...The good thing to be noted that he did not include his name in that list.

For the record, Dasavatharam was a 3 hr long piece of his pathetic record-hunting, show-boating, masquerading as an insight on chaos-theory. He has had great performances in the past in movies "Raja Parvai" or "Moondram Pirai", but in recent times he has embarked on a self-serving agenda, displayed quite obviously in his movies.

I don't like it when he says NOT everybody can be like BharathiRaja or SPB or Balachander. That is quite idiotic and there are equally good people in the industry now, if not better. The industry is always much larger than anybody, no matter how great! Also how come there is no mention of God in any of this. They do 'Saami Poojai' before every movie!. He needs to be less pompous. Everything in life evolves and we have to do the best in the times we live.

Talent is abundant yes..Kamal Hassan is not denying this. What he's saying is that people should not think that just because video cameras etc are easily available, the cinema profession is easy. Firstly not everyone is not equally talented. Secondly it requires experience and training. Even AR Rahman became succesful only after over a decade of training in the music industry. Listen carefully to what he's saying at 3:40 to 4:00 especially.

I think you missed the point entirely. Our Indian culture has many great things to offer, and so does Hollywood. Hollywood has many striving directors that want nothing more than their talent to be unraveled & acknowledged; money isn't a motive.
Thus the quality of films they put out is greater. MOST Indian Movies are horrible these days, due to a lack of passion and acceptance of mediocrity.
The society should make it a goal to root out the untalented.

The problem with Indian movies now is that MOST producers are only doing it for the quick cash, so the quality itself suffers. Its just another cheap budget movie. I'm not saying there isn't talent.
Its just that, so many people in the industry take advantage of the popular culture, and try to make profit from it. In essence, those WITH talent are silenced.
