America became the greatest nation on earth because of our constitution. For those of you who spend your entire lifetime being critical of every single thing, please be patient. The big asteroid is on its way, and all of this will be gone. Then you will finally have what you seek.
Dont worry, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and Michael Duncan can save us all by drilling in a nuclear bomb on the asteroid. I saw them do it once on TV and they can do it again! LOL
I don't really get what he's talking about. Just because a document is 200 years old and is called a constitution doesn't mean that it's a flawless masterpiece!
I wonder why that is lightmanx? Could it be because people like you won't take a stand and support someone else besides Democrats and Republicans? Instead of following the herd why don't you take a look at all candidates equally? I don't vote for who I think is going to win, I vote for who I believe in. I wish I had a dollar everytime someone said to me "I like Bob Barr a lot, BUT...he doesn't have a chance. Wanna know why he doesn't have a chance? Look in the mirror.
Silly Libertarians, don't you all know that you have no chance at victory? Call me a hater, say what you will to make yourself feel better. Just know, there is zero, let me repeat that, ZERO chance.
There seems to be some inconsistencies with your statement , to have an absolute zero chance something has to not exist. If something does exist its potential to effect exists and therefore so does its chance. And the fact of the matter is Libertarians do and therefore do have a chance.
So going on that your statement is just empty emotion derived from your outwardly defeatist disposition.
I like Bob Barr. Very straight forward and to the point. Spot on with issues. I really wish RP would have endorsed him instead of Chuck Baldwin. I really have a problem with religious types. I just wish Barr wasn't so...goofy looking:)
If more people realized they have another choice (not just democrat or republican) they would vote Libertarian. Share the "Which Political Party Are You" quiz with folks - use email, MySpace, Facebook, etc. It will open their eyes.
Know why politicians can't be bothered with the constitution? Almost none of the "regular people" that I know care at all about the constitution. Hopefully we won't go too much further in the same direction before we wake up.

Socialism is one of the worst ideas ever to wreck havoc on humanity its one of the stepping stones on Marxs path to communism Socialism requires an intrusive government and big govenment always overstep their bounds no matter how good the intentions were I recommend you read a little history communism and its ideals have caused more suffering and death than any other form of government but I only said socialism you say? socialism leads to communism my friend read the communist manifesto
"Socialism is one of the worst ideas ever"? Try "Capitalism" and "money", my misguided friend. Also, I do know a thing or too about Communism; I've actually READ the Communist Manifesto. Marx wasn't entirely right about utilizing Communism and Socialism; but its a hell of alot better than the havoc to be caused through Monetary Gain derived through Capitalism and Free Enterprise. And yes, big government IS a problem...when it prevents The People from controlling it like Democracy says to.
And, as you say that Socialism leads to Communism...well, I won't deny thats a possibility; but if Gov't is in the hands of The People as its supposed to be, then thats much less likely. It is certain tho, that Free Enterprise will eventually utterly corrupt a Democratic Gov't to the point where people no longer have a say in their government [the USA, for example], and'll inevitably lead to stagnation of society. I'll definitely have more to say on my channel (not yet tho, still workin on it).
If we continue to get the word out, true change will happen. We can't allow the government to continue on this path. I'm glad to see so many people looking at third party options.
I am afraid. Afraid that the American people are so sucked into what the broadcasted media has planned for them. To vote either Democratic or Republican. Brown vs White. "Old" vs "Young". "Talk" vs "Experience". "Debate vs Debate". Im not a conspiricist and Im not saying for Mr. Bob Barr to give up, but sadly this election and the next election and the next election will be a two party race. Its what they want us see, and its all we will see. Im for Bob Barr 08. Because Im voting for Liberty.
I don't think any Barr supporter is fooled into thinking that this election will elect a third party member as President. With the mass media sucking off the two major parties, the people are left ignorant of what the truth really is. I didn't know about the LP until I was told about it, and I immediately switched from the GOP to the LNC. It wasn't because I decided to adopt a new ideology, but because I figured out that there was more than just the two choices given to me by the media.
It isn't until we divert that kind of thinking: that it's "pointless," that we'll empower The People to make another choice.
Say instead: "It's worth a shot." I would rather go down in flames knowing I cast my voice for the RIGHT candidate, rather than say I followed the sleepy masses towards the one I liked best out of two they picked FOR me.
I wondered why John McCain didn't really have much to say about Bob Barr joining the race a few months ago. Now I know it's because Barr's intentions were clearly to split the liberty movement in this country. The very same party that costs him the election, some two years later he joins; only to run for President and divide what can only be described as a true revolution in this country. Thanks Bob.
Bob Barr denounced his republican status shortly following The Great 9/11 scapegoat.
I'm from NY. I know people who were there when it happened--would have been there myself if it had been a few months earlier. Those who died would be turning in their graves if they knew that their deaths were used as a conduit to fascism in this country.
The Bill of Rights doesn't say you have the right to feel "safe." To have the government take over and run security for and OVER The People.
You must be a Ron Paul disciple, so I will just point out for you, Ron Paul has been dividing libertarians for 20 years now. Bob Barr is not to blame for that.
When in the history of the Libertarian movement has the party NOT been divided by something? For that matter when has any political party gone more than a year or two without infighting?
Lol, What are you people talking about? cheesesoda, when did I say anything about thinking McCain would change the country? I won't be voting for either of 'em. But Barr lost my vote with this last stunt. He knew it would do nothing for his campaign but cost him votes not to show up. I just have to wonder if that wasn't his intention in the first place.
that's rather petty of you, darkstar. if this candidate stands for what you believe in, you should vote for him. you sound like my wife: "we're not friends anymore because she didn't go to my friend's party." ever stopped to consider that barr might have been busy? he's in a different state every other day and running a campaign of his own. and why would he show up to an event supporting OTHER candidates, some of which are the opposite of his beliefs? (ie, green party & nader)
He wasn't busy. He held a press conference in the same building an hour later. The point of the press conference was to point out that there are more important issues at stake in this election than which political party you claim to.
hey...there's nothing wrong with Socialism...it just has a bad rep because of the Soviet Union, North Korea, and China...but that doesn't mean Socialism isn't the way to go
Socialism is a great idea simply because everybody keeps screwing up the various private-controlled things such as health care...theres more of an explanation than that, but I'm pretty sure you won't care what I have to say becuz I'm sure you've already convinced urself that ANY Socialism is evil, not matter what.
umm no these recent problems is Because of GOV'T regulation and intervention.. if these companies were completely private we wouldn't be in the situation we are in today.. to socialize health care would do something like canada.. yea its free but if you need an mri in canada you have to wait 6 months the waiting list is incredible. Ill agree that on paper socialism is a good idea.. but it cant work because it goes against human nature.. humans want control & competition, socialism gives neither
The problem with socialism is its unconstitutional..with obama socializing even more stuff then there already is basically starting a new "new deal".. thats unamerican and unconstitutional these recent economic problems have been the creation of economic socialist like j. carter, FDR, & clinton. the usa's size of gov't was still as our founding fathers saw it in prelincoln times.. since then the country has been worse off. History shows us that socialism does not allow for economic growth. sry
When it requires a institution to employ violence to extract my property from me it is evil. A socialism that does not require force is fine. It is the political coercion that is the problem. Healthcare has not been private since the 70s. Almost nothing is private anymore. Government regulations and mandates have seen to that. Regarding money: a society without money is communist. Socialists have always maintained a market system with the proper safeguards. Communists want to abolish the market.
Fine, but when you REALLY think about it, you'll realize the world [especially Democracy] really would be alot better off without money...or you probably won't (but it really is).
Money is a placeholder for goods. Without money people traded goods in the same fashion. Money was created so that people did not have to carry things like chickens around to barter with. Things will revert to that. Society will not magically revert to some egalitarian commune. When you say abolish money you might as well say abolish goods or abolish trade. Democracy will work about the same. Factions will grab a majority vote and become the ruling class. Money is not the problem, government is.
Who said ANYTHING about trading out money for the barter system? I certainly did not. All I said was that money should be gotten rid of. I believe I also cited [though perhaps my have forgotten anyway] Star Trek as an example of how things should be (it shouldn't be EXACTLY like Star Trek, but it definitely be a hell of alot closer to it).
So you get rid of money and what? Money was non-existent at one time and instead people bartered. Are you talking about no only getting rid of money but then forcing an economic system on them? Historically, an absence of money has created barter markets not communes. You cannot just make money disappear. Society would fall into disarray and violence. Abolish money is neither a plan nor a tenable position. And Star Trek is fantasy, stop using it as a beacon of socialism.
"Star Trek a fantasy"? Well, that much may be true, but what of modern cell phones and computers? Are they a fantasy? I find it hypocritical that you may acknowledge technology derived from Trek, yet you won't acknowledge that it may also offer social and economic alternatives as well. You can't fathom a world without money, because the power it has over you has blinded you to all else. I told you before, the absence of money doesn't exactly mean bartering...(go to next post for more)
But, I won't be able to tell you the extent of how this can be through simple back-and-forth commenting; I WILL explain myself on my channel...I just need time to put everything together so all you close-minded people can understand my plan. Though you might be right in the end, this might not all work...for now; but as Communism sat on the shelf for half a century before it was used, maybe my ideas may do something similar before theyre realized. Or maybe u'll all be wrong...till then. ^_^
I do not think it is close minded to attempt to pursue the question of what happens after money is eliminate. That is a legitimate question that you have ignored, citing Star Trek(a fictional show) as your best example. But maybe your ideas will prove right when the Federation launches the Enterprise.
And I'm not calling u close-minded because u would wonder what would happen without money; I'm calling u close-minded because ur not open to the possibilities, the alternatives to money. Money causes so many problems in the world: corruption in government, drug trade, crime (theft, etc), poverty, slavery and so much more. And also like I said, you keep underestimating Star Trek simply because its fiction; most technology in reality comes from science fiction.
You have not given any alternatives to money! Corruption in government is caused by giving an elite few power over law and force. Drug trade is like any other trade. Demand creates a supplier regardless of whether money is involved. Stealing my car is theft whether or not I bought it with money. Poverty is someone having less goods. It does not matter whether those goods are money or housing. Slavery is a result employing force to make another submit their will. Money has nothing to do with it.
Like I said...I'm going to explain things on my channel [eventually], but in either case, it won't matter for you since you can't seem to even grasp the concept properly; "money is the root of all evil" isnt just some cleverly coincidental phrase...it is the truth.
And "the right to life, liberty and property" is not just some cleverly coincidental phrase, either. You have not admitted it but the elimination of money logically leads to the elimination of private property. Of course this requires an elimination of a person's natural rights which is simply an invasion of their person much more akin to slavery than money is. And I am honestly curious to see how your channel turns out.
Hope you become a subscriber and refute me every chance you get/want.
I admit that I may possibly wrong about all this, but I think the future is just far too important not to try to change things somehow...and this idea of mine seems pretty good [at least in my head as well as theory]; that's why I want to show people thru my channel to test and mold my ideas and [hopefully & maybe] implement them someday...if I ever get around to making videos in the first place...
Are you listening to yourself? When did Star Trek lay out designs for computers or cell phones. Those things were developed by scientists working to create a product that would profit them not from watching a T.V. show. A world without money, based on history not T.V., has resulted in a barter market. You want to eliminate money, why? Historically, it still leads to a market society. Why not keep money? And I do not think the little money I have has blinded me. In fact, it has kept me alive.
The problem with that argument is you have named all major socialist nations EVER.. there has yet to be successful nation to model how socialism can work.. as i said earlier it goes against human nature.. humans want to be competitive and humans hate to be controlled and told what to do. socialism does not allow economic freedom to the individual, nor does it reward one for hard work. the harder a socialist works, the same he gets payed as a lazy "do nothing" socialist, thats y it wont work
you seem to have said quite a mouthful....but that doesn't prove Socialism is an nonviable means for economics; the reason why it hasn't worked so far is because nobody's done it correctly so far. In every instance of Socialism, it has been used with Capitalism to subjugate everyone else under the power of a few, power-hungry and greedy people. Socialism would work, however, if money did not exist. Star Trek is a [very very close to] perfect example of Socialism being properly used.
Star Trek is a very good example of socialism and Star Wars is a good model for sword fighting. The reality is it is the collectivist means that are always hijacked by certain groups to control others, but that should not be surprising as that is the job of government. The surprising part is that so many State Socialist entertain this demented idea that government can some how serve and not oppress the people. Even democracy requires the subjugation of the minority.
This one is just way too much fun.

You must be a Ron Paul disciple, so I will just point out for you, Ron Paul has been dividing libertarians for 20 years now. Bob Barr is not to blame for that.
hrmmfjeez 3 years ago
When in the history of the Libertarian movement has the party NOT been divided by something? For that matter when has any political party gone more than a year or two without infighting?
natesohl 3 years ago
Lol, What are you people talking about? cheesesoda, when did I say anything about thinking McCain would change the country? I won't be voting for either of 'em. But Barr lost my vote with this last stunt. He knew it would do nothing for his campaign but cost him votes not to show up. I just have to wonder if that wasn't his intention in the first place.
darkstar725 3 years ago
that's rather petty of you, darkstar. if this candidate stands for what you believe in, you should vote for him. you sound like my wife: "we're not friends anymore because she didn't go to my friend's party." ever stopped to consider that barr might have been busy? he's in a different state every other day and running a campaign of his own. and why would he show up to an event supporting OTHER candidates, some of which are the opposite of his beliefs? (ie, green party & nader)
cgraham1930 3 years ago
He wasn't busy. He held a press conference in the same building an hour later. The point of the press conference was to point out that there are more important issues at stake in this election than which political party you claim to.

you got my vote mr.barr!! Just say no to socialism aka (obama) and the fake conservative and professional spender mccain

hey...there's nothing wrong with Socialism...it just has a bad rep because of the Soviet Union, North Korea, and China...but that doesn't mean Socialism isn't the way to go
kaishininjou 3 years ago
lol i know your joking
texanpilot23 3 years ago
Nope, not one bit. ^_^
Socialism is a great idea simply because everybody keeps screwing up the various private-controlled things such as health care...theres more of an explanation than that, but I'm pretty sure you won't care what I have to say becuz I'm sure you've already convinced urself that ANY Socialism is evil, not matter what.
kaishininjou 3 years ago
umm no these recent problems is Because of GOV'T regulation and intervention.. if these companies were completely private we wouldn't be in the situation we are in today.. to socialize health care would do something like canada.. yea its free but if you need an mri in canada you have to wait 6 months the waiting list is incredible. Ill agree that on paper socialism is a good idea.. but it cant work because it goes against human nature.. humans want control & competition, socialism gives neither
texanpilot23 3 years ago
The problem with socialism is its unconstitutional..with obama socializing even more stuff then there already is basically starting a new "new deal".. thats unamerican and unconstitutional these recent economic problems have been the creation of economic socialist like j. carter, FDR, & clinton. the usa's size of gov't was still as our founding fathers saw it in prelincoln times.. since then the country has been worse off. History shows us that socialism does not allow for economic growth. sry
texanpilot23 3 years ago
When it requires a institution to employ violence to extract my property from me it is evil. A socialism that does not require force is fine. It is the political coercion that is the problem. Healthcare has not been private since the 70s. Almost nothing is private anymore. Government regulations and mandates have seen to that. Regarding money: a society without money is communist. Socialists have always maintained a market system with the proper safeguards. Communists want to abolish the market.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
Fine, but when you REALLY think about it, you'll realize the world [especially Democracy] really would be alot better off without money...or you probably won't (but it really is).
kaishininjou 3 years ago
Money is a placeholder for goods. Without money people traded goods in the same fashion. Money was created so that people did not have to carry things like chickens around to barter with. Things will revert to that. Society will not magically revert to some egalitarian commune. When you say abolish money you might as well say abolish goods or abolish trade. Democracy will work about the same. Factions will grab a majority vote and become the ruling class. Money is not the problem, government is.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
Who said ANYTHING about trading out money for the barter system? I certainly did not. All I said was that money should be gotten rid of. I believe I also cited [though perhaps my have forgotten anyway] Star Trek as an example of how things should be (it shouldn't be EXACTLY like Star Trek, but it definitely be a hell of alot closer to it).
kaishininjou 3 years ago
So you get rid of money and what? Money was non-existent at one time and instead people bartered. Are you talking about no only getting rid of money but then forcing an economic system on them? Historically, an absence of money has created barter markets not communes. You cannot just make money disappear. Society would fall into disarray and violence. Abolish money is neither a plan nor a tenable position. And Star Trek is fantasy, stop using it as a beacon of socialism.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
"Star Trek a fantasy"? Well, that much may be true, but what of modern cell phones and computers? Are they a fantasy? I find it hypocritical that you may acknowledge technology derived from Trek, yet you won't acknowledge that it may also offer social and economic alternatives as well. You can't fathom a world without money, because the power it has over you has blinded you to all else. I told you before, the absence of money doesn't exactly mean bartering...(go to next post for more)
kaishininjou 3 years ago
But, I won't be able to tell you the extent of how this can be through simple back-and-forth commenting; I WILL explain myself on my channel...I just need time to put everything together so all you close-minded people can understand my plan. Though you might be right in the end, this might not all work...for now; but as Communism sat on the shelf for half a century before it was used, maybe my ideas may do something similar before theyre realized. Or maybe u'll all be wrong...till then. ^_^
kaishininjou 3 years ago
I do not think it is close minded to attempt to pursue the question of what happens after money is eliminate. That is a legitimate question that you have ignored, citing Star Trek(a fictional show) as your best example. But maybe your ideas will prove right when the Federation launches the Enterprise.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
Dude...quit being an asshole...
And also like I said, you keep underestimating Star Trek simply because its fiction; most technology in reality comes from science fiction.
kaishininjou 3 years ago
You have not given any alternatives to money! Corruption in government is caused by giving an elite few power over law and force. Drug trade is like any other trade. Demand creates a supplier regardless of whether money is involved. Stealing my car is theft whether or not I bought it with money. Poverty is someone having less goods. It does not matter whether those goods are money or housing. Slavery is a result employing force to make another submit their will. Money has nothing to do with it.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
Like I said...I'm going to explain things on my channel [eventually], but in either case, it won't matter for you since you can't seem to even grasp the concept properly; "money is the root of all evil" isnt just some cleverly coincidental phrase...it is the truth.
kaishininjou 3 years ago
And "the right to life, liberty and property" is not just some cleverly coincidental phrase, either. You have not admitted it but the elimination of money logically leads to the elimination of private property. Of course this requires an elimination of a person's natural rights which is simply an invasion of their person much more akin to slavery than money is. And I am honestly curious to see how your channel turns out.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
Me too ^_^
Hope you become a subscriber and refute me every chance you get/want.
I admit that I may possibly wrong about all this, but I think the future is just far too important not to try to change things somehow...and this idea of mine seems pretty good [at least in my head as well as theory]; that's why I want to show people thru my channel to test and mold my ideas and [hopefully & maybe] implement them someday...if I ever get around to making videos in the first place...
kaishininjou 3 years ago
Are you listening to yourself? When did Star Trek lay out designs for computers or cell phones. Those things were developed by scientists working to create a product that would profit them not from watching a T.V. show. A world without money, based on history not T.V., has resulted in a barter market. You want to eliminate money, why? Historically, it still leads to a market society. Why not keep money? And I do not think the little money I have has blinded me. In fact, it has kept me alive.
SSSLLLAAYYEEERRRR 3 years ago
The problem with that argument is you have named all major socialist nations EVER.. there has yet to be successful nation to model how socialism can work.. as i said earlier it goes against human nature.. humans want to be competitive and humans hate to be controlled and told what to do. socialism does not allow economic freedom to the individual, nor does it reward one for hard work. the harder a socialist works, the same he gets payed as a lazy "do nothing" socialist, thats y it wont work
texanpilot23 3 years ago
you seem to have said quite a mouthful....but that doesn't prove Socialism is an nonviable means for economics; the reason why it hasn't worked so far is because nobody's done it correctly so far. In every instance of Socialism, it has been used with Capitalism to subjugate everyone else under the power of a few, power-hungry and greedy people. Socialism would work, however, if money did not exist. Star Trek is a [very very close to] perfect example of Socialism being properly used.
kaishininjou 3 years ago
Star Trek is a very good example of socialism and Star Wars is a good model for sword fighting. The reality is it is the collectivist means that are always hijacked by certain groups to control others, but that should not be surprising as that is the job of government. The surprising part is that so many State Socialist entertain this demented idea that government can some how serve and not oppress the people. Even democracy requires the subjugation of the minority.
