  • Fuck this stupid ass video....

  • do u hav to treat antlers?

  • if u just wanted to buy a hide, what is a good store to buy them from, and what is the location?

  • Lame. Should be called "Commercial for Tanning A Deer Hide At Home- Taxidermy".

  • Take those training wheels off them bows

  • what would i need to do to the cape if i wanted to mount the deer?

  • i would have had better luck asking a 8 year old how to tan a deer hide. This is a shitty video. If you are reading this comment waiting for this video to load, just trust me and exit out.

  • I wanted to see the washing procedure!!!

  • worthless commercial vid

  • Wow.. Rediculous.

  • 5 minutes waisted just for yall to stop and say buy my video !! annoying

  • I used to tan my hides with my teeth. Guess this works better.

  • dude having a nice, suede-style deerskin is awesome but damn if it ain't gruesome work.

  • @LeonRFpoa No really? You think so huh?

  • Nice buck, but I'm not going to pay you ta tell me how to tan a hide since I can find someone who will tell me how for free if I look hard enough.

  • maybe u should let us see the whole video. huh

  • @MrDaballer54

you have to pay for it

  • do you know if i could tan a mouse with blacktea teabags, salt and vinager? and make it work good? could I throw in borax?

or denatured alchohol? in place of vinager?

  • the title is a misrepresentation. it should be called "preparing hide for tanning"

  • i tanned a deer hide with the hair on a few years back. This man has some fancy tools, but don't panic if you don't. I did the whole thing with no fleshing knife (handheld or electric), no fleshing beam, etc. It would have been easier if I DID have these things, but it is certainly possible without them.

And I wouldn't use something excessivly sharp to flesh the hide, like the scalpal he's using, it's likely to cut a hole in it, which is a pain to work around during the next three weeks.

  • what kind of knife is that and where can i find one

  • Looks like one of those things they sell on TV, you know? "Just $19.99! CALL NOW!" LOL! Then you see 'em several months later at Wal-Mart or wherever, with "As Seen On TV" on the box. Now...if they didn't sell on TV, why...? Know what I mean?!!

  • All Access Membership - $19.99 for 1 Month access

  • i wouldnt salt it, it just drys it out, you can do the same thing by letting it air dry, then take brains mixed with water and blend them with a fork, put them in the Nuker for about 30 sec just to warm em, or do it over the stove, when there warm spread them evenly over the dry skin and work it in evenly and hit EVERY spot or it will dry hard as a rock, work it in and you will feel it soften up instantly. Watch it carefully as it drys, not to dry and then break the hide stretch and work it

  • dont dry i to much or it will dry out and be impossible to break (soften) the drying with the brain on should only take about a day.

  • salt is the preservative, just like pickling something in formaldehyde , preserving is necessary because it may stink o damp days in a bad way due to bacterial action

  • is that salt uniodized???

  • I read somewhere online its supposed to be canning salt, not iodized. Cabelas sells tanning kits, but I don't think they include the canning salt.

  • Good stuff, informative. Good presenter.

  • I totally disagree. Over half the videos on Youtube are commercials for something. It cost a lot of time and money to produce professional instruction videos. Our intention is not to mislead but provide information on were you can get quality taxidermy videos for a reasonable price.

  • Capitolism is fine, but do you really have to charge people to teach them how to utilize all parts of the animal they have just harvested?

  • There is lots of free information on google some of it is good and some is not. We have spent a ton of time and money producing good quality content and just want to recoup our costs. We are using youtube to let interested parties know about it.

  • @BIGGAMEHUNTER74 If you're good at something never do it for free...
