I don't think the problem is that they heard it from a video game. The problem is that, often times, the people hear it played once on Guitar Hero and say "OMFGZ, MACHINEHEAD IZ SO AWSUM LOL I LIKE GUITAR HERO."

I for one heard it through Guitar Hero, and liked it. So I started looking up Bush songs. To call that stupid would be like calling stupid the act of looking up an actor because you saw them in a movie.
