Hip hop isn't dead, but it is dying. I still listen to a lot of the present artist. However, hip hip need to bring back the elements that use to be part of hip hip. hip hip use to be about speaking your mind, or sending a strong message to the community. Also, hip hop used to be about originality. Now all you here about is rappers talking shit to eachother, bragging about violence and being a thug, who got the phattest whip, and who gots more Bling-Bling.
