@DACNewsNetwork Between 1963 and 1966, Katoh oversaw the production of four DoncaMatic rhythm machines, and it's him that you can hear saying 'DoncaMatic' on Gorillaz' single. What's not clear is whether or not Damon Albarn and co used any DoncaMatic hardware in the creation of the track ❤

@CRYST4L47, here i'll let you in on a secret.... from the names of all the individual multi tracks for this song there was no mention of Doncamatic so it would seem they hadnt. The drum machine used throughout the Plastic Beach album is the E-mu SP12 internal sounds (from the Drumulator). Remixing this record was fun although because I love the original so much, it was difficult.... but Daley's voice made it such a pleasure to spend the time on. - DJHarryLove (add me on twitter)
