A Super-Colliding Pappy tearing open the mysteries of the universe! You have romantic vision for the sublime like no one else I know, Pappy. Thank you!
Pappy, I was speaking of you in glowing metaphorical terms, but if you insist on being a rocketship I won't stand in your way....ha,ha,ha! Watching you tear down that corridor had me thinking you were doing a Pappy particle accellerator experiment! ;)
In 3001: The Final Odyssey, the Leonov mission is said to have taken place in the 2040s.
Also in 3001: The Final Odyssey, the Monoliths appear to have been defeated, at least within our own Solar System, rendering the events in 2001 (at the end of the 2010 novel) moot — however, perhaps after this time it is equally possible that the Monoliths might have returned, but it is equally possible that they should not have.
HAL makes a change. Didnt read the second book by Clarke.. The story invokes hope, perhaps the more that is "out there", will be here!
The video, invoked something else. I feel small, I cry out to the beauty of this Universe; "Im only one person!!" there is no echo to follow. Its vast existence and energy, are so far away from our comprehension of Large. I love space photos, they have feelers on them. Little tentacles that grab onto my eyes, and i want them there!! Love this Pappy - provoking
Great looking vid PappyStu! The long corridors kinda remind me of a particle accelerator.
It never ceases to amaze me the machines that man can envision and build. It's downright mind boggling.
After watching this I did a YouTube search on Europa since I *try* but fail miserably to keep up a bit with things space related. I didn't realize it was such an interesting place. Probable/possible ice surface with probable/possible ocean underneath, and heat from the core. Definite life possibilities
I like those long hallway shots because of the seemingly endless perspective viewpoint. Looks like an interesting place to walk around. Big fan of the final frontier too (no not a trekkie.) I like Arthur C. Clark, not Roddenberry. Some of Clark's ideas actually became reality. Clark described a communications satellite in detail in a 1945 article. Clark 1917-2008 RIP.
I always find pictures of space fascinating be they real or an artist's conception... You also picked the perfect music to go with them...

Some trips it seems rely predominately on our imaginations...

I liked the way he wrapped the story up in 3001. Did you read "Rendezvous With Rama"? I like that one too.

In "2010" mankind was warned off Europa, I never accept being told what not or what to... DO
