i really need help...gOt a new tablet and opened up corel painter but i have no brushes...now i dont know if this has to be seperately installed or something but i just have no brushes in the drawer....PLEASE HELP!!!!????

QUESTION!!! Okay soo.. where can I find my layers if the tab for it vanishes!?!? I can't find it and I am pissed off.. (I've had this for a while and usually it's there and I can brin git back but all of a sudden I can't find it anymore!)

@sliverchain100 I actually fixed it I know how to fix your problem!

reset the application to "factory defaults". You can do this by holding down the "shift" key on the keyboard while launching the application. You will see a dialog asking if she wants to restore Painter to its Factory default state to which you should select Yes/OK.

Let me know if the Layers palette re-appears. =D

I fixed my problem and this might help you^^

this is rediculous... my photoshop that came with my tablet won't let me actually do anything but edit pictures, despite me constantly looking through countless tutorials and corel isn't that bad, i just hate how it's so pixellated >.>

I have a problem with corel painter essentials 4 on windows 7....when i had xp it worked, but on windows 7, it takes 2-3 hours for the program to start. I tried to change a view settings of my computer back to xp but it didn't help...Also, when the program finally works, it's very slow and sometimes i can't use all of the brushes.

my computer can't be the problem, i bought it last year. and i don't have any viruses either. can anybody please help me? D:

@cinderellacorpse This is pretty old .__. But I have recently bought (like three months ago now xD) a Wacom Pen tablet, that came with Corel Painter Essentials 4 and it worked just fine with my computer's windows 7 :c Nothing was slow or lagging and I could use all the brushes. >:

Can you keep two windows open at once while drawing? That is...can you keep Corel open while you have another say photo open that you're drawing from in another window? I find when I do this, and then go to draw on Corel, it immediately minimizes the other window...it's incredibly annoying!

I need help....I've got the Bamboo Fun with Photohop Elements 6 and Corel Painter Essentials 4....so when I opened Essentials 4 (on my Vista) and tried to open some of my photos it said "filename.jpg Cannot Be Opened"

that happens everytime...please help

Hi, if any of you can help me figure out this problem, please tell me. Everytime I open up my Corel it won't let me open it up to full screen without saying, "Painter Essentials 4 has stopped working. A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available." I don't remember when this started but it's been happening for awhile, and it hasn't sent me a message yet. Please help

@samadatha89 I don't know if youv'e fixed it by now, but hold the Shift key when you launch Corel. It'll ask you to reset the settings and that will let you maximize it. This pissed me off and it seemed like all of the message boards I went to didn't have an answer except one. So simple.

i have a question how do u actually draw? i click on the pencils and pens ad stuff but nothing works its just that little hand that can move the paper and nothing else

Are you pushing any of the buttons on the pen? Because that's what moves the paper is the bottom button.

If you don't hold any buttons and press the pen on the tablet, you should be able to draw something on there.

I just got this, but every time i open it, it freezes in mid load, even when I'm not doing anything. I'e reinstalled it, reopened, and tryed all that, But it still won't work, can you, or anyone help?

yeh that happened to me. wat version of windows hav u got? if it's windows 7, look up on google fre upgrades so it's compatible wif windows 7. just make sure u get teh english one!

yeah had same prob.. if u have windows 7 right click on it then properties then go to compatibility then check the box that runs it as windows xp service pack and it started right up for me =D

@NinjaCookiekit that's what happens every time i open it too.....i googled it and it said i'd have to change the settings to xp, but it didn't work......BUT, if i just wait, (2 hours. yes. =_=) it stops freezing after a while (2 hours.) and i can draw.

but it takes long.(TWO FUCKING HOURS. (but if you really want to draw, you can try out waiting though.))

I am considering to buy a Corel product but I'm not sure which one I should get, either it be Painter X, Painter Essentials, or the Graphic Suites.

I plan on using it for an illustrated story book I wish to publish and I like to know if fonts can be used in this, upgraded to such, or can use another program to reach my ideal goals.

@mugen1237 I am thinking about the bamboo (Fun Pen & Touch Medium) or the Intuos 4. I have the money for the clearly more expensive one and I was going to buy it but then I heard about the fact that the bamboo has got some software included.

What would be you recommendation?

@RagdollRalph I think that the Intuos is for advanced drawers or what not. It's also fairly expensive compared to the Bamboo. Bamboo is great; it's cheap, effective, and easy to use. Intuos however, I don't know. I've never used one before but from what I've read and heard, it's a good drawing tablet.

It comes with part of corel painter essentials 4 part of adobe photoshop elements and part of something else that I can't remember.
