I rode this the first day it came out a few years ago... you could see the track move a lot more while watching and the ride was much smoother... now days it doesn't move as much and is rough.... still fun though!

And, for some reason, I always lose my breath on the small dip after the straightaway (at 0:18). It only happens in the front row. So, that is why, in my opinion, I like the front. However, on most other coasters, I prefer the back.

i ride the boss all the time. the front row is actually very smooth and it's the most fun. it's great at night because you fly through the woods and you can't see any lights. then you fly up into the mid course block brakes and get a great view of the park all lit up at night. the double down always gets me!

I have to disagree. Everyone I have spoken to after the ride says that it is much smoother in the front. I always used to ride this in the back, but then one day I rode it in the front, and that's where I've ridden ever since (only on the Boss).

for those of you future riders or complainers of how bumpy this ride is, if you have not been on it this season yet, during the offseason six flags added reinforcments to the current wood supports, pillars, track w.e, including alot on the double helix, just take a loom youll see fresh wood compared to worn down wood from 2000 when it was built, they also laid the track down on new pieces of wood in certain areas, including the helix

After 150+ total rides on this, I can give you my opinion (notice I said opinion) that the front is the only good seat on the Boss. Any other seat is way too bumpy, and everyone seems to agree on that. The front also gives more intense negative g's than you would think. The wind is also crazy. Just don't ride it at night in the front (bugs).

However, the back seat is the best on Batman, Evel Knievel, and the Mine Train. Mr. Freeze and the Boss are the best in the front seat.

The drop isn't that intense on this ride. It's the double-down that gets me. I like how it's not just a single drop, but it goes straight for a while, flies under the support structure, then does that small second drop. I lose my breath on that part every time.

sweatervestking: The Boss NEVER had OTSRs (over the shoulder restraints). It's always had the same Gerstlauer trains with individual ratcheting lapbars. You must be thinking of Mr. Freeze. It used to have OTSRs, but in 2002, it was replaced with just lapbars.

Yes, Boss is rough. It has G-Trains, so that's pretty much a given. But if you sit in or near the front row, it's bouncy rough like Beast, which can be a lot of fun. Boss is SO much fun. This is probably my favorite CCI. Better than Timbers, at any rate. The speed is completely refreshing. I love it.
