@mrmomsoj Amazing nobody noticed that sooner. I love this movie and soundtrack. I like other films about the Apocalpyse, like Lifeforce, very underrated Tobe Hooper film.
The song is an obvious take on Metallica's "Enter Sandman" which is a GREAT creepy song and video. It also references the H.P. Lovecraft themes of reality Beyond the Wall of Sleep which Metallica had previously covered with Cliff Burton.
I like the movie but this song was a bad way to start off the film. The song itself isn't bad or anything, it just doesn't fit the creepy tone of the movie.
This song rules. The effects on the guitar as it comes in heavy are mind-splintering. The initial buildup is insanity itself, and the riff is bttw. Also this movie is magnificent and I agree, Lovecraft would like it.
I love this track. I love this movie. One of Carpenter's best. Its hard not to find Carpenter's films entertaining and ground breaking in terms of his vast ability for making different kinds of horror films.
This is the meanest mother of a Lovecraftian tribute soundtrack ever! I was lucky to see the movie when it came out in the UK in 1995 after I left my shitty school.

Please see "Starcraft - Terran 3 (music)". Copy or coincidence?
Cortex000 4 months ago
@Cortex000 Yeah, shame on John Carpenter! Blizzard should sue him for copying Starcraft music!

@Bechieuf Carpenter should sue Blizzard, rather.
