I'm getting the Flip tomorrow, the 3rd generation 8GB with image stabilization. I already ordered the Bower lens for a much wider shot. I know the 2nd gen supposedly has slightly better colors and sharpness, but I want the image stabilization and 60 fps.

@ktownskates I used iMovie HD (the one from 2006 because the recent ones kinda suck) and pretty standard settings. The only change here was trimming it and adding some background music. Did not play with any brightness / contrast settings, this is all just "as is".

That was done using the basic iMovie HD (07 version) on an iMac. For smaller clips that's more than enough.

Nice vid! any idea how I should film lines with a flip camera? I have an older flip camera so yea.. if I try to get close up on anything it gets really close so like a ledge or something would look smaller than it actually is...

Yeah I've seen some tutorials on that online. Not sure if I want to do it to mine tho, I also shoot regular music videos for my band with it sometimes and "normal" stuff besides skateboarding. ;) But I am curious how it works for skate videos so post something please.

The low-light quality is pretty good. What I mean is that it's clear, it doesn't get fuzzy like some SD cameras do in low-light.

I used iMovie (it's on every Mac) but I think it could also be done in Windows Movie Maker. Didn't use flipshare at all, I prefer to manually download the files from the device to my hard drive and play with them there. Same with adding music.

I think it's the best piece of gear I got in 2009. Fast, efficient and the quality is good enough for most things. + they're small and cheap.
