Yes, not all buildings are in 3D. But Manhattan should look the same to you as in this video. Maybe even better because Google Earth has made some 3D updates since this video was made.

Hey, armydude112. Not sure what happened. When you first download the 3D models, they will be under Places, but under a folder called Temporary Places. Before you close Google Earth, be sure to click 'Yes' to save them to your 'My Places' folder.

No, bcarl10101. Google Earth is just a model. The satellite pictures are up to 3 years old. You can download additional 3D models to add. But it's still not live. The only things that come close are the sun and the weather. Under View put a check next to Sun or under Layers put a check next to Weather. It will show you live clouds and daytime/nighttime.

Hey, guitar453. I don't think the base Google Earth is made with sketchup. But you can add things to GE using sketchup. All the 3D models in this video were added from sketchup. Look under (More info) next to the video for a link to each one.

Hey, HippiesRbad. The slow original is "Canon in D Major" composed by Johann Pachelbel in Germany around 1680. This version is "Canon Rock" arranged by 'JerryC' in 2004, and played by 'funtwo' in 2005. Their vids are here in YouTube. Hey, kinghybodo. I have the basic free version. For large cities there are many 3D buildings in Google Earth. To see them, put a check next to "3D Buildings" under "Layers". And there are more 3D models from the Google 3D Warehouse. Links for these are under (More info) next to the video. And there are more 3D models at the same web site.

OK, 07adamwilson08. But here's a newer, better model. Paste all of this in your Internet Explorer Address field and click 'Go':

At that web site, click on 'Download Model' and then choose 'Google Earth (.kmz)'. This will put Yankee Stadium in Temporary Places in Google Earth. Right-click on it and select 'Save to My Places' to keep it.

i have google 4.3 but the buildings arnt very detailed just white n that is it to do with im on a laptop or sumfin ???????

Hey, 07adamwilson08. No, it's not your laptop. Most of the 3D buildings in Google Earth are just plain white. Since this video was made, many now have more detail. Look at lower Manhattan to see some of these. But, the main buildings with details here were separately downloaded. Look under (More info) next to the vid for links.

Hey, wiztastic. Most of the 3D buildings show up in Google Earth by putting a check next to "3D Buildings" under "Layers". But the featured buildings in this vid are more detailed models downloaded from the Google 3D warehouse. Look under (More info) next to the vid for details.

The 3D buildings aren't everywhere. Just big cities. Zoom in on New York City.

Hey, FishSymbol. Yeah, you noticed. The 3D models are from the 3D warehouse and were used as is without scaling. Some of them do look taller than they should be. Links are under 'more info' next to the vid.

Hey, smcvolition333. Now, I have 4.3, not pro. But, I don't know what version I had over a year ago when this video was recorded. And, I used the 3D downloads that were available at that time. A lot of newer, better ones are available now.

I discovered this morning that GE have the buildings full of colors and it's just great , we're really enter in the next generation of software ! I bet that in ten years we'll be able to watch people walking down the streets just sitting in front of our computer ! :)

Yeah, Randomconker123. That's the way the Brooklyn Bridge model came from the 3D Warehouse at the time this video was made. That model is gone now and has been replaced by a better one that actually connects to the ground at both ends. Check the description next to the video (more) for links.
