yea i was confused about him saying we have to handle the deficit yet we should spend on programs like this and like that. austerity? not so much that would cause crazy backlash. if at all we need austerity in small doses countered by job creation at ideally the same rate. impossible is nothing
I believe Europe has shown that "austerity" only makes matters worse. Some how money needs to be injected into the economy, and since the tax cuts for the wealthiest of our citizens has failed to improve the situation, the best solution (and many economists agree) is for the government to SPEND MONEY. There are hundreds of infrastructure projects that need to be addressed and that would create jobs. Why don't you start there.
