  • dentist is really good with this little child

  • awww how cute ;)

  • Man, I wish dentists were like that when I was a kid. I guess they only started teaching humility and compassion in the 90s!

  • @StopDropandLOL loool

  • love the balloon glove. im gona use that in ent clinic haha plenty of kids

  • and there are pediatric dentists who say they ALWAYS have to strap them down

if a child is given respect, communicated with and trusted to hold still then they will cooperate most of the time

and this is solid proof :D

  • did you lest caries under the restoration? i dont understand the technique very well

  • @ortovega Atraumatic Restorative Technique (ART) was designed for dentists to use in situations where ideal dental equipment does not favour "regular" cavity prep. ART entails excavating caries, without local anesthetic and filling with a durable restorative material- usually glass inonomer as it is releases fluoride ions. Great to use with kids -as you a re not brandishing intimidating instruments in the pts face

  • @TheHumzie doesn't it hurt if they don't use anesthetic?

  • @Emrald70 nope, thats the whole essence of ART & is even used in some adults who are opposed to the drill! Using sharp excavators, chisels, hatchets etc access is gained, demineralized enamel, dentine is carefully curetted out to avoid pulpal exposure and since an ideal cavity prep( in way of G.V Blacks principles) is not made, GIC is used-it forms a chemical bond with tooth and releases fluoride. Interestingly, GIC is like a sponge, it absorbs fluoride and releases it as well.
