@roidroid I dont see any easy solution to spam on any platform, but Wave does have a few advantages due to its federated nature;
* Unlike email, under this system *all* a spambots activity could be whipped out as soon as its identified. This is because the messages arnt being copied and sent out to dozens of servers, but rather rather everyone accessing that content gets directed to the source. Kill the source, kill every copy. (except where people have quoted it, of course).

*Chain-ban. If a spambot invites another, you can identify and ban both.
*Finally, remember, spam will only effect waves that are fully public.Anything created for your friends/family is "invite only" and as your unlikely to invite a spam-bot,you can be assured at least on those waves of being spam-free.
Overall I don't see any magic bullet.But I think it will be less of a problem then email. And, worst case, you could always blast the spam out of the sky with a AR lazer-gun ;)
