  • no1 can replace the real gandalf!!!!

  • @ViraRohirrim The actor who plays gandalf in lotr (Ian McKellen) is going to play gandalf in The Hobbit, if you watch the crew cast you can see for yourself ;)

  • @TesWalkthroughs i know he is, im just saying if he was to be replaced, the actor wouldn't do a better job than sir McKellen

  • It's interesting how any time he's working with Tolkien material, he gains some weight.

  • DAMN hes lost a lot of weight.

  • @DrunkIrish0 its because he was ill.

  • @CornyTelecaster49 really? hadn't heard.

  • WTF? I was thinking peter is fat :D

  • HOLY SHIT! thats peter jackson! man.... i like him better when he's fat

  • @bananasaregood10th Yeah, i relax more when he is fat, means things are going well, and by the look at him resently, im very relaxed:D

  • i liked him better when he was fat, like a cuddly jolly uncle lolol

  • can anyone tell me how he got so skinny??

  • @YTchannel754 he found a ring

  • he looks sooooooo different

  • @evenstar7u haha well yeah, hes lost like 50 pounds and hes about 6 years older lol

  • peter jacksons weight.. skinny.. fat..skinny...fat.. he seems happier fat to be honest lol.

  • what a passionette guy. knows his work and respects it. fkn star

  • @metallicstucco Better start eating because there is an official trailer check it out youtube.com/watch?v=G0k3kHtyoqc

  • This Hobbit movie will never happen. If there's ever even an actual real unfake fan made trailer for the Hobbit movie, I'll eat my own foot!

  • @metallicstucco this is really awkward but there actually is, its being released next year. FAKE FAN.

  • @metallicstucco

roflmao! Make sure to record it and upload it to youtube when you do.

  • if ian mckellen won't get the role i'll hang up myself.. he's the king as gandalf! nobody else...!!

  • @MisterVacation As far as I know that's already confirmed ;)

  • @TheSupascoop haha right, i forgot the video had been on youtube for 2 years, but i've just noticed that they've already started with the movie... as far as i know..:D

  • @MisterVacation dude, have you seen the trailer? Got the role?! They're filming it right now!

  • i think if anyone, even Peter, had made the lord of the rings trilogy around 2009-2011, it wouldn't be as good. Not because of the actors would be much older now but because overall there is so much difference in the way movies were made back then, and for me (im fifteen and was born in 1996) movies nowadays are just ... different in a bad way, not all movies - i mean a movie like Sherlock Holmes (2009) is excellent and so are the transformers movies and many others.

  • @mniyad

are you retarded. the transformers movies suck ass. Peter would have made them the same because thats how he makes films. Thats his style. Timing makes no difference other than the effects shots he could make.

  • @shadow99reviews

Thats my opinion because of the way movies are made differently nowadays, over the years every director changes and LOTR would've been good if it were made now by Peter but he himself said he has changed the way he films in his interviews. Im not saying he's gone crap, its just that it's a high possibility that lotr would've come out differently (maybe in a bad way).

Transformers wicked except for some acting certain people but, great storyline, characters and graphics.

  • @mniyad

No i am right and you are wrong at least pertaining to Transformers. The movies are complete shit. The storyline is not great in any single way. They don't make sense, characters are dull and definitely not well likable. There is no story. Its just robots acting stupid and horribly uninteresting characters reacting extraordinarily over the top and unrealistically. The cg is good but what cg isn't now a days. Im not going to continue fighting b/c i am right and you are wrong.

  • @shadow99reviews

if thats what u think, there's a lot of people who may agree or disagree with you. we're not having a fight by the way and chill man, the movie's not bad, there's many people who like it.

  • @shadow99reviews

if thats what u think, there's a lot of people who may agree or disagree with you. we're not having a fight by the way and chill man, the movie's not bad, there's many people who like it.

    Your very competitive :-)

  • i'd prefer him chubby

  • Every time he starts making a movie he starts gaining weight.

  • Wow. He looks weird skinny with short hair and no glasses...

  • peter jackson, you look daamn good. damn good.

  • Goodness sakes -- He is SCRAWNY!

  • Comment removed

  • that's fuckin' right, you don't cast people just to slap their name on it to rake in money. The actors are based off the character!

  • 1:57 yup hes crazy

  • screw the hobbit... make BRAINDEAD 2!!! lol

  • why does he look like he just got out of bed every time i see a video or picture of him

  • i want to play an elf in the hobbit! My dream:')

    Don't judge haha

  • RIP Sir Ian Mckellen

  • @ChibiLycan Ian McKellen's no dead, you twit!

  • you have to admit that Peter Jackson is pretty handsome...

  • He's now fat again

  • is all the original actors not coming back ?

  • @MinisterForTrance1 I believe all characters who appear in the Lord of the Rings and in the Hobbit are played by the same actors... except young Bilbo. But of course, some characters from lord of the Rings don't have a role in the Hobbit so the actors naturally won't reappear. Read the wikipedia page for the Hobbit for more info.

  • @Wotanraven ok thanks bro

  • this is not peter jackson.. it cant be him impossible

  • @ashman9992 he last a lot of weight after creating the king kong movie, don't worry has begun to grow a little bit again as he shots the hobbit film

  • has he lost weight since shooting the lord of the rings?

  • Im very confused on how the actors that they are bringing back such as Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood will be included, seeing their characters are not in this movie...

  • @TheTabulater "As Frodo hadn't been born during the events of The Hobbit, the inclusion of Frodo indicated that parts of the story would take place shortly before or during the events of The Lord of the Rings" - wikipedia is your friend.

  • I see ..Evangeline Lilly is going to be in the films... =) mmm yummy!

  • =) 2 movies ...The Hobbit: There and Back Again

    ..and...The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

  • All these Illuminotti, 2012, aliens are among us nuts who escaped the nuthouse need to get rounded up again. So please would you all now tell me how wrong I am... so we can compute your location and come GET YOU!

  • @traida111 so let me get this straight, Stargate is based on reality?? Do you want to clarify that?

I'm very exited about "The Hobbit". I just hope they don't screw it up now that they know what a cash cow it was for the LOTR trilogy. As long as they stay true to the book AND have Peter Jackson at the helm it will be great.

  • WHOLY COW!!!! HE LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT!!!!!!!! HE LOOKS SSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!!

HE LOOKS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER TOO . . .

  • Peter Jackson - nice weight loss man! :D Last time I saw him was 2003 :)

  • he looked a lot better when he was fat

  • He is way better than Tarantino..... OF COURSE....!

  • it's a shame he's not as big and jolly as he used to be...oh well...it's still Peter!

  • what the fuc! he has really change! the fatness did the epic peter!

  • @DrumDevil95 he's gaining the weight back, in case you didn't know

  • @sixpointneuf good he looked better a lil more chubby

  • Comment removed

  • peter jackson would make a fine hobbit

  • who the fuck disliked anywayz

  • What most people aren't aware of, is that the Hobbit reveals something the the Illuminati have been keeping a secret for centuries. And that is why this film has stalled.

If Jackson hadn't been so insistent on focusing on and expanding the part about the White Counsel and the Necromancer, this movie would already be in your DVD collection.

I am putting myself at great risk in writing this.

  • @bluestucco there is no risks, unless you believe there to be one. law of attraction, many movies have been made by "illuminati" or governent, to use Sci-Fi concepts as a way of making society believe its fantasy.. when in fact some of the concepts used are based on real events, real technology. The only exampe I have is Stargate but there are more. i havent watched it yet, but i will keep an open mind to your thoughts. To say its lies and your wrong would be naive. true or false i may never kno

  • @traida111 That's very interesting, but I was just making up what i thought sounded like kooky weirdo nonsense off the top of my head.

  • aliens took the real peter, because he belongs to "the chosen ones", those who must not die at the end of the world in 2012.

but no one will ever notice that this man is not the brilliant filmmaker, because we are never going to see the movie. it will be to late...bam bam BAA

...no seriously i am very happy for him loosing so much weight, but don't you think he also lost a little "lord-of-the-ring'ness"

  • He has beautiful eyes. :)

  • First 10 seconds: picture of young MICHAEL jackson in the background^^

  • damn he got skinnny!!!

  • @TheSpatnaik he unfortuanatly, put it all back on recently :( :(

  • @TheSpatnaik im surprised he doesnt weigh a ton again, he munched away while filming Lord of The Rings :P

  • @TheSpatnaik Watch some more resent stuff again... he's gotten chubby.

  • @TheSpatnaik he starts filming as rly skinny and when the movie is done he is kinda chubby =p.

  • @gentgent1 what should Russia say, then? :) people seriously think that we're all alcoholics who live with bears and wear red star hats and don't speak english, and that communism still exists. bitch, please!

  • @botneva if it makes you happy guys I am neither Russian nor American and I don´t hate either of your countries... I actually kinda like both of them :) whoever hasn´t read "Něnagljadnaja krasota" doesn´t know what they´re missing :)

  • dammn he lost a lot of weight

  • Ai, estou farta de gente estúpida! LOL

  • @15CF e com toda a razao

  • there are things that i like, things that i don't like, in both, but at least i LOOOVE lord of the rings and i can't wait to see te hobbit! be grown up and don't do stupid coments of something that is not mentioned on the video.

  • I hope the 42 people that put thumps uo in the first coment are just kids, because i would be disappointed if they were grown ups... =/

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN the fact is that i have an enormous respect for some Canadian people and for its entire culture.. But people like you, judging an European population just because of what you might hear in a stupid conversation between your brain washed parents at dinner time, makes me sick.. peace

    - Portugal

  • @87earth It's just a joke, lighten up man.

  • ok, if i say "usa sucks" and then I have a lots of thumps up, you would defend your beloved country, wouldn't you? ;) i'm from portugal. it's not perfect. it's not like usa. but usa are not like us. and one thing is Portugal, other thing is USA. i was born in a country that is not perfect. just like yours! but, hey, it's my home! like USA is yours! We can't just insult people that we never knew! I never knew an american. and even if i had, how can i judge a country for one person?

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN well as far as i try to understand the point of that comment, it's completely irrelevant to this video, Portugal idle lifestyle? hairy feet? who the heck you think you are to judge Portugal citizens lifestyle and compare it to "Hobbits"? Portuguese have idle lifestyle in the country side like the rest of the world, and LOTS of US dont work and starve bc there's not enough JOBS. USA is trying to take over Europe, and you so called "neutral" Canadian pussies buy the shit out of them

  • Sauron dislike that vdeo

  • Bitch got thin

  • woah he is so thin.

  • Im sad that peter lost weight.... he looked cool being big

  • Can't wait

  • @obesehairydog Stress

  • @obesehairydog by eating yogurt and excersizing. he didnt like how he was looking so he changed

  • @gentgent1 Because of jealousy.

  • Peter has lost alot of wieght.

  • @LnDFightClub right

  • @xopokun sarcasm or sincerity?

  • @LnDFightClub and alot of hair :)

  • @gentgent1 no everyone loves america they just hate the way it shoots itself in the foot by electing morons like george bush ........... heres a hint DONT vote for Palin.

  • Legolas is gonna be in the Hobbit? GTFO, read the book :(

  • @trolltrumman He wont have a big role calm down. He is the son of the king. Maybe he'll say hello or something.

  • @trolltrumman its not just the book, there are also parts of Tolkien's appendices from the back of the LOTR that talk about events that were associated with the events in the Hobbit. and Legolas was involved with that stuff. material from the appendices is included in the Hobbit films to make them a little deeper and connect them more the LOTR films. so there is a reason and its not a dumb idea.

  • @trolltrumman i think will be like the part of they change glorfindel by arwen, here in the hobbit thranduil by legolas ;)

  • this guy had lost alot of weight! :)

  • michael jackson in the background!!!

  • I'm not sure he looks right as a skinnier guy! Well done to him though.

  • I think Peter would make for a good hobbit!

  • He lost weight in 2005 and kept it off since that's pretty impressive as most put the weight back on

  • I still can't believe how different he looks now compared to 10-12 years ago.

  • Wow! Pete's in a good shape!

  • @VisualVideoTruth may have something to do with the fact that Gimli was not in the Hobbit.

  • Smaug the Magnificent disliked this.

  • Who should voice Smaug ( In my opinion)

    *Jeremy Irons

    *Stephen Fry

    *Christopher Lee

    *Brian Blessed

    *Alan Rickman

    *Ian McDiarmid

  • @Polardj900CPCP Look up Richard Ridings. His voice would be perfect.

  • @hakuro Ridings has a excellent voice for villains e.g. Cornell

  • @Polardj900CPCP Don't forget Michael Ironside and David Warner....two great voices!

  • After knowing Peter Jackson as a big man it's like I'm watching him when he's ill. I'm just glad he recovered over the stomach ulcer.

  • Gosh, Peter Jackson should definitely do a cameo in The Hobbit....he looks like he could be Merry's dad!

  • wasn't he fat?

  • Yeeee-fucking-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr!!!!!

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN

    terribly funny

are you basing your comment on your vast insight of Portugal, or just simple plain prejudice?

  • Wow... He looks fantastic. Good on ya, Peter!

  • Thank god Peter Jackson finally got to direct the Hobbit movies. He always said he was fine just producing but we all know he wanted to direct them to. Just face it, there is no other way :)

  • Right lets see if i get thumbs down.fucking american, all most be shot a dawn.

  • I can't wait to see this! I'm so happy the real Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and am excited to see that Kate Winslet is in it as well. :)

  • @MsHorselover93 But Kate Winslet isn't in it...

  • @everynickisunavailab Watch this video, then you'll see. "Peter Jackson on The Hobbit". She is mentioned at 1:05

  • @MsHorselover93 he just mentioned her because he was explaining how they discovered great actors through a wide auditioning process in the past but Kate Winslet certainly wont be in The Hobbit.

  • @schnacker41 ahhhh, I was kind of half-doubting myself in the back of my mind. Too bad though, I think that would've been interesting, eh?

  • @everynickisunavailab You mean Cate Blanchett, right?

  • Peter Jackson = Total Bad Ass!

  • He is quite alike the actor playing Merry!

  • peter jackson would make a good hobbit

  • I hope thin Peter Jackson is as good director as the fat one! :)

  • @NVaizard Think of it this way, losing weight might have made him healthier and lengthened his lifespan, so he has more time on this earth to make amazing movies! D:

  • @LucidWhispers True. I believe in the guy. But maybe this time, for a reason or another, he is not trying to be as faithfull to the books as possible. Recasting characters just because they're popular even tough they are not in the book is a really, really bad sign. BUT, I still believe in him, I'll wait till I see the thing to trow the rocks at it! Hopefully I won't have to. :)

  • get Louis Walsh to play a hobbit

  • OMG He's so skinny!!!! I liked him better as the loveable chubby guy preferably ;P

  • Every person who disliked this video was Stuart Townsend.

  • Wheres the rest of him?

  • must be a harsh Scottish and welsh accents for the dwarves, sweet irish and scottish for the hobbits, English and American for men and elves... thats what i reckon

  • mr jackson you are a hobbit : D ... now :D

  • I do miss the old PJ too. He was more lovable back then lol

  • he looks like a hobbit, he should be the main character,

  • He should make a Legend of Zelda movie. That would kick balls.

  • They need tons of little guys with thick fury feet and who live an idle lifestyle...I hear their auditioning for the Hobbits in Portugal.

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN

That's a huge fallacy right there, my friend. Average amounts of hair in pretty normal sized feet for common height male specimens. Well, we might agree a bit in the idle style of life, but only rural areas in the south. I don't know where you get your information, but you are deeply misinformed.

Btw, I'm surprised you have any knowledge of what Portugal really is, being Canadian and all - trusting your profile information, which by all means isn't at all reliable.

    - Portuguese

  • @Chalkmouth Damn right I'm Canadian, and I do know all aboot the Portugese, I appreciate you not getting too offended by my naive Canadianness. If Jackson's looking for little people with big feet, he should check out any american chucky cheese and get some fat kids.

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN

I wasn't offended by your, as you put it, Canadianness. I found it amusing. But then again, we ought to demystify, so little minds don't go thinking we, portuguese natives, are "fury".

    Cheers.

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN Chalkmouth's comment owned you.

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN

when did you hear that audition?

  • @TRIPLEHTWIN i can say that you are really wise by saying such a thing. speaking like that for a country you never lived on, is not a good thing, but I wont say no more. just a thing: speaking of some country that way, you're just givin it more importance. :)

  • huhhuh Michael Jackson in the background...

  • ROFL. Peter Jackson is slim.

  • The 1 person who disliked didn't get a part in the hobbit.

  • @cooldude11011 for being too small...??

  • i'm excited about the hobbit but....i'm gonna miss the old cast.....no more frodo, no more sam, no more legolas and gimli and aragorn.....i honestly don't know how anyone can make it just as good as the originals....even pj....we'll see i guess

  • @LoneSola Orlando Bloom is in it. They just started filming today...

  • @mrcemetery really? i heard frodo's gonna be in it too, at least for a bit. maybe it won't be that bad.

  • I want to be thin just like him....

  • gos this guy is looking great now. well done pete

  • wens the hobbit realsing....

  • Hes freekin anazing!!!!!

  • Didn't recognise old Pete there! My mom could play a Hobbit.

  • @TheBeertjeRulez haha you make me laugh (:

  • Didn't recognise old Pete there!

  • Peter Jackson looks like a hobbit ^^

  • I wonder if Peter Jackson would ever doing a Drizzt movie...god that would be so freakin sweet!

  • What date is it 2011 or 2012?

  • @WhaleboyProductions1 Xmas 2012 and Xmas 2013.

  • as long as he sounds and talks like PJ thats fine with me
