  • in Canada we have higher % beer and the drinking age is 19 where i live

  • When i was 15 and 16 i used to drink in pubs locally all the time. Because my dad was a local.

Though i believe the law in the UK is 16, if your booze is being payed for by a "responsible" adult....

Though there is a really strange loophole that you can actually get booze when your 6, as long as you are outside in the pub garden...As the bar is the place of service, and thats the place that is stated in the law "16 year olds served in the bar area".

  • In Norway it's 18 fot anything under 22% and 20 for anything above, and that works pretty good :-P

  • In The United States drinking age should be 19 just like Ontario Canada were it is also 19 to drink , 18 in Quebec

  • In Portugal is 16 but they want to change to 18... but the real thing is that nobody cares about that...

  • that's cool and all for all who live in other countries but realize just cause there is a drinking age of 21 in the US doesn't necessarily mean that it's followed.

  • Great Britain:

    18 for everything.

When I turned 21 I went to America, and people were getting drunk in bars like 18 year olds in the UK. Made me laugh

  • germany:

    Beer/wine - 16

    Everything else - 18

    nice :D started at 13 with whiskey+coke

then 14 Beer all the way and at 16 I started drinking "hard" stuff regularly :D

turned 21 now and drink my beer for the taste of it and when I want to get tipsy/drunk I'll go for Vodka variations or as a drink: Caipirinha/Caipiroska :)

  • in my world, theres no drinking age ;)

  • I can't imagine growing up in America, in Australia the drinking age is 18 and my parents let me have the occasional little glass of champagne even when I was about 3. Even the most vanilla of kids here are pretty seasoned drinkers by 21, I'm turning 21 in about a fortnight and I feel old when I go clubbing because people are sooo much younger than I am.

You guys are being so sheltered! 17 is a pretty good age to start drinking I think.

  • One thing I realllllly hate about living in the US.......drinking age of 21. FUCK THAT

You have to sign up for the draft at 18, choose who makes laws and regulations.....

And I'm not allowed a fucking drink?

Whatever lol, not gonna stop me.

  • In Philippines, the legal age is still 18, but if you go ask your son to go to a negihborhood shop and buy a pack of beer, they'll give it to him :)

And you can smoke pot, do soft drugs and buy all alcohols at the age of 18.

  • In Australia its 18. Should be 18 in the states, its a pain in the arse having to buy duty free at home. Booze in Australia isn't cheap. Most people start drinking around 16 anyway.

  • here in the Netherlands (holland) you can drink/buy from 16 hard liqour however is 18 up.

and you can be a bar tender from 16 legaly doesnt happen often though im 18 now and i've been a bar tender for a year now ! and dammit i LOVE my job !

  • You should really be confident in the level of drinks you can ingest, and when you know your limits, that's when I feel you are ready.

  • i wonder what he does with all those drinks? o.O

  • in vienna, austria, you can buy any kind of alcohol at 16. but no one cares if you're younger ;)

bars are mostly for over 18s.

  • in canada you need to be 19 to get any alcohol, in the states i think you should be the same age, not twenty muthafuckin 1!!!!!!!!! shits whack.

  • Here in austria you can get beer and wine with 16 and spirits with 18 :D

    US should have 18 too!

  • dayum u wasting alot of booze!!

  • Comment removed

  • I think it should be 18 everywhere. I live in Alberta, Canada, and it's 18 here. But that doesn't stop the dumbass 16 year olds from coming in and trying to fool us.

  • I work as a cashier and the police sometimes send in underage people to test us but they're really obvious about it. Once a girl that looked about 16 came in and bought some junk food and a bottle of rosé, and I ID'd her thinking it was a test. She gave me her ID and she was 18! (legal drinking age in the UK) I was really disappointed because we get cash rewards for passing the tests

  • You can legally drink @ the age of 18 in Norway.

Also 18 in some bars, and some 21..

  • In Finland, you can buy beer, wine, cider etc but no spirits (vodka, rum, gin, whisky, etc) when you turn 18. After you turn 20 you can buy all the booze you want.

  • @kieku87 and in estonia you can buy EVERYTHING at 18, we win reindeer!

  • @Shinkajo True but there are still few limitations that makes us equal, firstly you can not buy alcohol in Estonia from the store until 10am, in Finland it's 9am. Also you can not go to casinos there until you are 21, here it's 18. But your booze sure is cheaper than here in Finland. I call it a tie :)

  • @kieku87 In Netherlands we can buy beer and that kind of drinks when you are 16.

  • Here in Germany soft alcohol like beer, wine, champagne are allowed to buy at the age of 16. When your 18 you can buy everything.

  • My mom let me drink at age 16 in the house since i already lived in a place where if i ever wanted to could get drugs and alcohol with enough cash. She did this so i could learn the signs of my limit and didn't put myself in danger. It worked out for me way better then my friend that just did it and ended up with alcohol poisoning.

  • 16 and older 0,5%-15%

18 and older 0,5% and up

below 0.5% it isn't leggaly an alcoholic drink

    i live in the Netherlands.

and i think this works fine fore bars but i think the liquer stores have to up the age couse there is a difference between a buying 2 bottles and drinking it outside and ordering some drink in a bar where there are other people watching u.

  • 18-19 in canada, and it should be 18 or 19 in the US also. lmao at 21 , when you can be in iraq getting your balls shot off at the age of 18-20 , but cant have a drink.

  • in Israel 18 :) 21 is way to high i agree

  • It's 18 in the UK, 21 just seems too high, people will be drinking regularly at that age anyway.

  • in israel you have to be 18 to be drinkin

  • here in canada its 18 but i dunno american teenagers vs canadian teenagers BIG difference

  • In Lithuania legal age for drinking is 18 but everyone already drinks when they like 13 or 14 lol

  • Im a Bahamian going to college in Minnesota and its so frustrating having to wait until i go come or wait another year to drink. I completely agree with Skyy, if i can fight at 18 in a war, I should be able to enjoy a drink.

  • i m from portugal and here we can drink with 16 but we only can sart driving with 18

  • it should be 18.... in quebec, canada its 18 so why not be 19 everywhere else :P

  • Drinking age is retarded. Eliminate drinking ages and lets bars and clubs decide what age they want their events.

  • the doormen in our "party street" always know when the police controls so you can drink with 13 if you want to but legal age is 16 for beer and wine and 18 for hard alc here in Austria

  • it should 16 n in my country there is no fucking age so thats mexico for ya

  • The land of opportunity and regarded as the best country to live in by americans. Yet here we are in Europe laughing at the pathetic police state and frankly anti fun and party policy of the US govt. Here in Ireland, the police wouldn't even waste their time with under age drinkers. Under age parties actually make headlines in America. Now that is sad. Seriously, America has to be the most uptight, strict party destination in the developed world.

  • Should be 18 like it is in UK xD.

  • usa so 21 is the legal age..i agree it should be 18...if you can get in the army and vote you should be allowed to drink..it really doesn't stop the 18 yr olds anyways they seem to find it no matter the age limit is...if anything i think it entices them more because it's illegal

  • here in Australia it's 18

  • should be 18

  • Man it's sad and kinda ironic. I'm almost 19 and in the U.S Army yet I can't drink -_-

  • 18. If you can die in a foreign war you should at least be able to have a have a freaking beer in your own country.

  • 19 in most parts of Canada, 18 in Quebec.

  • @ZeQiR and Alberta

  • usput, des bratac!! da legalno je sa osamnaest, ali kod mene si mogao sa 13 da kupis pivo. i cale mi je davao vops i deda rakiju jos sa sest.

  • i live in Serbia, we drink since we are minors, since we are kids, or early teenagers, but maybe because of that we know how to drink, very little of Serbians people drink till they puke, than americans come and drink till they lose conciseness , maybe because they drink after 21.-st birthey. Skyyjohn , maybe you should involve some of international drinks, like , Rakia , Vinjak , etc.

  • you can legally drink in your house with parents at 12 but in bars 18

  • United Kingdom it is 18 WOOHOO!!

  • Never, you can't drink alcohol because its considered first class drug here in Saudi Arabia.

  • i finally turned 21! and i understand why it should be this age. i know people at 18 drinks will end up even more out of control that 21.

  • In my country it's 16.

I believe there should be no drinking age.

If it's legal the teens won't want to do it to seem cool.

  • Should be 18 there and as you know, 18 in the bahamas :P

  • legal drinking at 18 in Serbia, so as voting and military service

i started drinking later than the most of my age, at about 18/19, but i'm a serious player now

  • In Russia, legal age for drinking is - whatever. You can be in a bar after you ... paid.

    Noone gives a shit.

  • @ZAHINHO dude, are you serious?

  • @MrWicher Pretty much. As long as you pay.

  • @ZAHINHO

  • New Zealand, 18, we a big fan of alcohol here. We have kids start drinking from 12, and have drinking parties by the ages 14-15!!

  • As for my theory, the drinking age in America should be 18, you can go to prison, fight in a war, vote, buy cigarettes (which also kill), buy lottery tickets, Go to any movies you want, buy porn, serve alcohol (not bartending), work just about anywhere, support a family, own a house/apartment (if u hav the money) yet you can't have one drink...UndAge drinking occurs b/c kids are told not to drink, if they were legal to drink they would lose interest in over drinking and sneaking around to drink

  • 18 in Ukraine

  • Also the drinking age in America should be 30 AT LEAST. Americans don't know how to handle their liquor or understand the responsibility or the fact that alcohol is a drug, they're just in it to be cool, and get drunk.

  • Taaka vitamin water and orange juice.... ewwwww

  • 18 in England

  • It would be nice if the drinking age were 18 in the U.S. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Besides, would you really want a bunch of 18 year old kids driving while under the influence of alcohol? Lowering the drinking age would cause a lot more harm than good.

  • 11

  • Its 18 in Aus, I reckon thats fair.

  • the drinking age is 19 here and i think at least maybe 19 or 20 whatever just as long as the little basterd arent gonna go crash or something

  • Here in scotland you can leave school at 16, get a job, buy a house. have a child and go to war, vote and participate in the lottery. out of all that is commitment, killing, gambling and sexual intercourse. the police can to fuck all about that. however if i were to go down to my local shop at 17 and buy a small bottle of magners. BOOM criminal record and or fine. makes you think eh ?

  • in denmark where i'm from we can buy booze when we are 16. 16 is also the line concerning sex and getting thrown in juvi or in extreme chases even prison. i don't know if that is the right age to set the limit but i do think they should be together

  • i think 18 would be awesome but you also have to think about the stupid kids who are going to go get wasted and crash into people.

  • Denmark you can drink beers when your 16.

If you're above 10 and have enough money, night shops'll never turn you down.

  • I think it should be 17 (roughly a senior in HS), I started drinking at 15 and I had my wild phrase during my junior and senior years in HS, now that i'm in college i'm not as wreckless as my friends who didn't drink in HS because I've been there and done that. So pretty much let them get the wild side out before they can screw up their life over something the did when they were barley "adults"

  • IN THE BAHAMAS NO AGE OR GUESS ONCE U HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE

  • Belgium, 16.. and I'm ok with that.

  • MEh, i've been drinking since i've been 13, but i've really been able to handle my liquir at 16. I believe that's what the legal drinking age should be. After all, if i can't buy some whiskey at the store, i'll just go and score some weed

  • Canada, the age is 19!

  • In HK it's 16 for legal drinking but 18 to be in a bar.

But fuck, because of all the stupid ass American teens fucking shit up. It's no wonder the legal age to be in a bar is 21. Drinking isn't a competition, it's a fucking leisure and relaxing time!

  • In my country, Peru.

But at any store under age people can buy any drinks they want.

The thing is just not to get caught.

  • Here in Montreal,Quebec you have to be at least 18 to consume alcohol and it should change to 16 :D

  • In Scotland the drinking age is 16, but only with meals, you can't go into a bar and just order a drink, and you need to be 18 before you can buy booze in a shop

  • in sweden 18 is the drinking age is in clubs and bars, but we can't buy strong stuff ourselves in stores until the age of 20. weird rule really.
