  • best review of this item, been looking for an hour for a knowledgable review. good job

  • Does the Flip work with HP computers? Like a vista operated computer?

Also what file is it filmed in (Mpeg, MPEG-4, Avi, etc.)??????????

  • very nice review. thanks!

  • Im watching in 360p because of my broadband connection, 1 question, is the white noise I can hear due to the youtube compression - or is there some audio noise ??

  • @jimbob150555 the noise you hear during the water fall is actual noise; when you are in loud places the sound on the Flip might not be the best, but overall is very decent. Cheers!

  • So it has been some time sense this unit has been out. I havent really been keeping up with what is best but it seems like, for the price, the flip ultra hd is still in the lead. My question to you is: Would you rather have the flip ultra hd or would you take a chance on something different now that the market has had a little time to catch up?

  • @cjrizzle93 thank you for your comment. The Flip Ultra will still be my #1 choice, however, the Sony Webbie has one thing I like: a lens that swivels so if you film yourself you can actually see how you look on the frame. All the best!

  • @SkoviMan I took a look at a couple of reviews of the Webbie and not many people like it. From what i have heard and seen, the mic is VERY noisy and the picture quality is decent at best. Im almost sure im going to get the Ultra HD. I really appreciate your response too! The next thing im going to check out is the Kodak Zi8.

  • Can you burn the videos you made with the Ultra HD on DVD's?

  • @Jurkowski1987 yup! when you install the software there's an option

  • onde u film a vid and put it on to the computer and delete the vid on the flp will u still get 2 hrs again ? plzanswer me

  • @ThePurplenurplez hi and thank you for your comment. Yes, once you upload the videos on your computer, you can empty the videos on your Flip and have 2 hours of recording time again. Cheers.

  • Awesome straightforward review. I so want one. I have a compact JVC HD cam but I like the simplicity of flip cams.

    Great!

  • Awesome reveiw but is this one better or the flip mino HD

  • does this come with good editing software?

  • It comes with FlipShare, a very basic editing software. Actually Movie Maker on PC or the basic version of Final Cut in Mac are better editing softwares. But if you just want to put pieces together quickly and add one of their music backgrounds, it's not bad. Thank you for your comment and Happy Holidays!

  • What editing software is exceptional for cheap?

    Around say 30 bucks? Anything?

  • Both Adobe Premiere Elements and Sony Vegas are exceptional for their price, around $70. There's Corel VideoStudio for $40 but I have not tried it to give any opinion. I hope that helps.

  • Thanks man... just opened up my Flip for Christmas... i am more than pleased :)

  • You are welcome! Congratulations and enjoy the Flip. All the best!

  • how do i get flip videos onto WMM?

  • By default Flip records on MP4 format (not recognized by WMM). This is what you do: Open FlipShare and select the video clips you want to use to edit on WMM. Under the "Share" panel located below click "online". A new window will open giving you the option to share either on MySpace, YouTube, or Other Websites. Select "Other Websites". Hit Next. Hit Next Again. Name your folder and clilck "GO", your files will be in a folder on your desktop converted to WMV to use with WMM.

  • ya cameras almost never come with editing software and if any its VERY VERY minimal

  • Im getting one in the next few days, Im gonna use it mainly for vlogging, how shaky will the image be if Im walking and talking? Im getting the small tripod and the power adapter too. Nice review!

  • Hello and thank you for your comment. If you're going to be walking and talking, you should hold it very firm; it doesn't have an image stabilizer. But it is excellent for vlogging and I'm sure you'll love it. Let me know when you post something on YouTube, I'd love to see it. All the best!

  • Nice review!

  • Thank you so much for your comment. Happy Holidays!

  • how come it has that roboticy sound when the water is running

  • know where to buy it the cheapest???

  • Thanks for your comment. I'm almost sure Amazon is the cheapest. Pretty much in anything. You might get a used one cheaper on EBay, but you never know if the lens could be a bit scratched, etc. Have a great day.

  • Thank you for your comment. I edited the video using the flip share software (that's why you see their logo at the end) leaving the original sound. It would have been easier to mute it and put music over (on a different editing tool) but I wanted to show the sounds as well and I agree, close to a river flowing or waterfall the sound is not good. Cheers.

  • sound quality isn't very good at 3:05 to 3:21 and the short video at the end?! putting advertisements on their customers' videos...
