  • i love can

  • People really need to stop going to these Can videos and starting arguments about Radiohead. 90% of the comments on Can videos allude to Radiohead. Can influenced EVERYONE. They're as influential to modern music as The Velvet Underground, and Radiohead is only one out of hundreds of bands who've taken cues from Can.

  • You can just tell that Irmin was classically trained

  • ich bin dann mal zu Liese

    tschö

  • i'm going to call my band the can drummer is the greatest drummer ever

  • it sucks that can died of aids he was pretty good

  • where i can find it???

  • Music that goes deeper than music itself.

  • they do it like true blue artisans.

    incredible sound engineering.

    the lead is gold.

  • you're* :)

  • I like radiohead. don't listen to them much anymore. but still like them. I like can. listen to them very much. and I def. still like them.

I discovered radiohead before can. glad I followed that path. or I might have never discovered can!

not sure what everyone's obsession is with comparing 'artists' or music. sounds more like your trying to compare your intelect. in my opinion those that involve themselves in this act probably lack more than the before mentioned.

  • radiohead thats kind of a joke to even mention them personally my favorate band is porcupine tree steven wilson richard barbieri on keyboards colin edwin on bass and the best drummer in the world gavin harrison most talented musicians period and one of stevens main influences is can i see why they are amazing

  • Class track. Radiohead? Whay are people metioning an entry-level indie band in regards to Can? Radiohead are a bit like A Time Burton film, wierd and far out for people that really don't know what that is.

  • hey you got the Titel wrong: I'm to Leise not Liese.Leise means quiet(german word) (info)

  • IS that a Yamaha YC-series organ he's beating on?

  • @mcmike100 i guess it's a farfisa professional piano

  • The answer to the Can vs. Radiohead debate is very simple...

Did the Radiohead bass player ever play with white gloves? That to me is the essence of the jam, man. White gloves.

  • some sweet keyboard percussion

  • we love can...

  • somebody stop the stupid gonza..asshole,he`s everywhere he shouldn`t be.crawl back to your slimy hole cono

  • can definetly tell how can influenced radiohead. especially the singing style. it sounds like thom could be singing the vocals. and radiohead did a cover of can's "the thief" song.

  • OOOOOO!!!!! increible , nunca escuche una cagada como esta....

  • the key to this debate is in the rhythm section, radiohead are masters of catchy hooks and song writing but the can rhythm section just destroys all that, that mantric repetition business and, oh yeah leave the bass drum dampners at home..

  • Didn't imagine they recorded in one single take (minus Damo Suzuki's voice)...

  • @cheeezdooodle This was never technically released on an LP but a different version can be found on "Unlimited Edition" from 1976.

  • there's more to can than radio head......more layers, and no obvious lyrics to to the music down........can make u wanna dance and hypnotize u more, whereas radiohead (what little i heard) have more 'attitude'.

  • I really don't see the comparisons between Radiohead and Can, other than that they both play with electronics. Can was almost built around improvisation, and that is element is almost devoid from Radiohead's music.

  • Th' Faith Healers

  • Radiohead are the greatest band of the last 10 years.

Can are the greatest of the last 50.

    They're both great.

    Be cool.

  • guys! first of all - it seems only the early years of can influenced thom/radiohead. since they only covered stuff off their 68/81 album. the thief. I can see you doo right in 'there there' for the methodical tribal beats in the beginning heavy on the toms. i once read can was a band of 5 soloists. last time i checked radiohead was a working 5 man band.

  • the title of this song is actually 'I'm too leise' Which is half english/german: 'leise' is german for 'gentle/quiet' whereas liese doesn't really mean anything.

  • I have it on good authority that Thom Yorke now owns those white gloves of Holger Czukays and keeps them free of dust in his sideboard next to his prized doily collection.

  • AMAZING job by CAN-Communism Anarchism Nihilism.

Maybe this is my last message on Youtube.

  • gay lord

  • What?

  • I can hear an obvious influence on Radiohead.

  • Yes, its all over radiohead...I feel it all the time

  • Radiohead doesn't possess one billionth of this.

  • That's your opinion. All I meant was that there is a clear influence.

  • Not really. That's your opinion.

  • I'm not sure what the problem is with pointing it out. I mean, I imagine Can would be flattered that they influenced Radiohead.

  • Well, apparently at least one other person thinks that. But I don't see how it is somehow insulting to Can. You can't deny, say, the Beatles' influence on ELO, but that doesn't disparage the Beatles.

  • Pinholedstars-you've noticed the fantabulously

Abysmal 'english' on Youtube,too,then...By the way, some of your actor's like Depp have almost

mastered a British kind of English accent, not

that it matters...grammar is not a fetish, though,I think.

  • die "tip-top" Kopfhörer sind klasse!

  • Bongo Keyboards! Nice!

  • STONE ROSES

    FOOL'S GOLD

    I was told

  • alguém sabe onde consigo com um som melhor?

  • j'aime beaucoup leur musique !!1

  • 1:06, irmin going nuts on the keys, incredible! the percussive playing really comes through on this version...love it.

  • Im a brit and i proferre can than the beatles, Can have a mature sound and a sound that no one else has.

  • seems the queen's English is falling into just about as much disrepair as SHE is...

  • Damo seems rather aloof from the proceedings....

  • Can are The Beatles 2

  • Can are so good, it drives me crazy.

  • 01:16 ... irmin's fly seems to be open.

  • Holger was ahead of his time...great drumming and keyboards as well

  • A shorter edit of this clip is actually on the CAN DVD. Great to see the entire thing. Thanks orangefunk!

  • I think the dates on the videos refer to when the record was released not the date of the video.

  • @orangefunk

no this must have been recorded in 74, otherwise Damo Suzuki wouldn't be there (video zooms in on him at 3:10) as he left the band in late 1974 and retired from music until 1983.

  • That was around 1972 or 1973, but definitely NOT in 1974... Damo left in September of 1973 around the release of Future Days, and jaki had really shorter hair in 1974... actually, the group started to tour and record as a four-piece in late 1973. But anyway, it's a great clup, and phantastic grooves!

  • Nice clip, good song - relaxed and funky. Probably one of Damo's last performances with them. How come these clips on youtube weren't on the DVD? Still, brilliant that it's here.

  • the instrumentation is still firmly in place. good stuff, just not their best, since Damo had such an incredible presence.

  • oh no. holger is wearing his white gloves and damo's cut his hair. the beginning of the end.

  • what is this taken from?

  • could very well be... I just took the date from the actual titling in the video clip.

  • I would say that 1973 would be more like it since there was no Damo in 1974 and Jaki had short hair.

  • Damo left in 74, but it wasn't right at the beginning. I know he was on Future Days, and that was in 74.

  • Future Days might have been released in 1974, but was recorded in 1973.
