Interestingly, I read a recent comment that Michael Jackson was focussed on developing a new sound, a new musical instrument. Perhaps if he has found his way to the West Indies he may have collaborated with the Calypsonian and Soca revellers to develop a new instrument.
The Roaring Lion career officially began in 1924. He recorded extensively between the 1930s and 1950s, and was one of the calypsonians who deserves the most credit for increasing the international popularity of Calypso. Nuff Respect RIP

I was born in 1947 and only heard of "Tambu Bamboo" from my father in conversation. It took youtube and my life in Canada to find it!
