I think this is 2 tricks plus a huge mistake. The 1st trick is pulling the tablecloth; this was successful. The 2nd trick was the puller's elbow hitting the other boy, with him faking unconciousness; this was successful. The Huge Mistake was the boy falling back into the cabinet and the cabinet falling. I believe the pen moves due to the cabinet striking the wall behind it, with the vibrations shaking whatever the camera was resting on. Might the rest of the video show the punishment?

It is not real, though saying that it is a fake is like saying that all movies with special effects are fake. Technically they are, they are supposed to be. That is the point. The effect here is very well done and simple. base shot with the two boys, one falls the other runs away. the distortion in the pen is a masking of the second shot with the shelf falling. notice that as the shelf falls forward the pen straitens. That is the mask of the shelf falling footage covering the rest of the screen

The pen rolled a little bit. Wether this is staged or not (I think not; that's some pretty expensive damage there...) It's funny and the cabinet really did fall on the boy. Because the tv did not land on the boy, and the cabinet is wide and so the pressure was spread out, it would not have hurt him too badly.

Sorry- but wrong. The 'jump' happens during the fall of the entertainment center- how are you going to stop it, mid-fall?

What makes it fake is the amount of force it would take to tip it over versus how hard and where he hits. The way he falls is also unrealistic. The most telling for me, though is the older kid would have had a natural instinct to try to stop it from falling on the other boy, rather than running away.
