  • So would I I would to be able to play like man your bass slappin' just out of this world cool

  • Just love those super-super-fast triplets, the Mark King trademark. How do you do them? Do you use two fingers to pop two strings in very quick succession?

  • @BooleanMattock1 I think you pop the g-string then mute the e-string with your left hand and then strike with your thumb on the e-string while muting, or even replace the mute with an actual note.

  • ..............awsome....................

  • Wonderful, I wish i could play like this!! Keep it up.

  • Nice! What did the King say about your play?

  • crikey!! wish i could play like that...actually i wish i could play full stop..hehe excellent :)

  • Holy shit, that is fucking AWESOME!

  • Dang MAnnn!! Great playinn ! i wish i can slap like thatt haha very good

  • Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!!

  • i would love to slap your head like the way you slap that bass!

  • very shiney head

  • I didn't know Max Branning was such a deft exponent of the slap bass....

  • @248carterhatch hahahahahahaha this is how he got over bradleys death by slapping that fucking bass!!!!

  • BRILLIANT!!!..i love bass but dont play...but would love too...but wanna do this overnight......

    You great on all tunes.......

    cant stop watchin........

  • absolutely brill......love watchin.....its great......

  • what effect are you using here dude????

  • sick!

  • yea me dig this. there are like sooo many peeps doing the mark king thing including myself, but you are one of the better ones ive heard so far. good techniques and especialy the sound is very good. having a JD helps ofcourse, but most of the sound comes out of your fingers/thumb and you really got that down! lots of players on a JD sound worse.

5 stars for this clip :)

  • bien pelado!!

  • I wish I'd got the same manual dexterity as you I can only manage the basic riff!! By the way steve can you show me the intro to Hot water as it's gonna be onr of those riffs where I'm going to have to do piece by piece

  • I like it so do many others, besides, its a webcam, not exactly raw sound from a Trace Elliot is it?

  • shut up twat

  • next time you speak try opening your mouth a little wider!

  • ???

  • Awesome!!!!

  • You're very talented. I have only ever heard anyone remotely similar to your style and that is Vail Johnson (played with Kenny G). Well done!

  • very nice... subscribed !!

  • new comer to playin bass can u tell me do u need special strings to do this slappin

  • not really, but I do use 30 - 90's. Very thin stuff!

  • You're not the only one, Les Claypool (Primus) also uses very thin string guages to aid in his speed and the bendability. I often wonder what Mark King would say about people like Claypool and Victor Wooten who are inspiring people to slap just like he did in the eighties.

  • Hell yeah!Love this groove!I wish you could just play longer.I Have to hook my speakers up!

  • WoW Man!!

Your technique is not the best

But you can play very cool!

  • some slappin ma man

  • where are you teaching, area

  • unbelieveable, you should do a Level 42 tribute band

  • Really great

  • Great playing -enough to give the King a run for his money. Are you on the dole mate because it takes a lot of spare time to get dat GOOD!

  • Yeah, but KING wrote it!

  • Good point. As a player myself, it takes talent to come up with something so complex. Still good tho ain't he??

  • RED HOT WATER! really cool :)

  • enough thought i was good ah well

  • Dude,

You've ripped me a new one...!

    Sh.t!!!

  • Step aside mark King ! - i think you play with a more natural style, dont get me wrong i love MK just personally can be a bit mechanical for me sometimes- This is great to watch - thanks !

  • oyyy dont forget mark plays and sings at the same time!

  • that's gotta hurt! great work dude.

  • fair enough

  • Phatness.

  • Really really good!

  • Haha, I struggled with that tune for years before I gave up on it.

    Top stuff!

  • Im 36 only just picked up a bass for the first time ( a life dream that just kept being put off)i see people like you and i just aspire to get to that level! (42)!

  • I AM NOT WORTHY! (throws self to floor)
