Just love those super-super-fast triplets, the Mark King trademark. How do you do them? Do you use two fingers to pop two strings in very quick succession?
@BooleanMattock1 I think you pop the g-string then mute the e-string with your left hand and then strike with your thumb on the e-string while muting, or even replace the mute with an actual note.
yea me dig this. there are like sooo many peeps doing the mark king thing including myself, but you are one of the better ones ive heard so far. good techniques and especialy the sound is very good. having a JD helps ofcourse, but most of the sound comes out of your fingers/thumb and you really got that down! lots of players on a JD sound worse.
I wish I'd got the same manual dexterity as you I can only manage the basic riff!! By the way steve can you show me the intro to Hot water as it's gonna be onr of those riffs where I'm going to have to do piece by piece
You're not the only one, Les Claypool (Primus) also uses very thin string guages to aid in his speed and the bendability. I often wonder what Mark King would say about people like Claypool and Victor Wooten who are inspiring people to slap just like he did in the eighties.
Step aside mark King ! - i think you play with a more natural style, dont get me wrong i love MK just personally can be a bit mechanical for me sometimes- This is great to watch - thanks !
Im 36 only just picked up a bass for the first time ( a life dream that just kept being put off)i see people like you and i just aspire to get to that level! (42)!
So would I I would to be able to play like man your bass slappin' just out of this world cool

This comment has received too many negative votes show
very heavy, loose and very twangy - give it up, man. You've no right owning a JD.
The Duane Eddy of bass playing.
