i just got a new video camera - check out the vid. i used to have a mini dv but the weeel that was making the tape roll broke. im sticking to hard drive
yo j thats a good idea to record the booth fader i like that, when i record my mixes i do the same thing just wack a lead in the side if the camera and away you go, BUT my camera has somthing very handy when you plug an audio cable in to the camera you have a level meater on the side of the cameras screen, my cameras about a year old now so im sure one of thouse you have there whould have one on it, just a surgestion not a dig, i find it very usefull when recording from my mixer, nice video.
The Green socket means general audio usually, headphones can be used though, or moniter speakers, that will help you sycronise the correct volume settings on the booth, it enables you to listen whilst your setting the control fader a reasonable level for good quality sound.
Have you considered using the widescreen feature (available on all three of your cameras)? Your videos would be future-proof in a way (so you don't have black bars on the sides when viewing a full-screen video on a widescreen in the future) YouTube will also eventually make the window wide to accommodate the widescreen format...erm I'm rambling on.
it´s not easy to get the correct Level to record with a Mic Input, because the Line Output of your Mixer has more Power than a Mic output. So, the Mic input has a Build in Amplifier and when the Input Signal is to high, it passes the Amplifier and then you have Distortion.
You can record from a Headphone Output to the Mic Input of your Camera(Headphone Output from the Mixer, from the Amplifier...),but you must increase the Volume slowly, like Johnathan explained in this Video.
There is a Cable from Sony out, the RKG 128. It has build in Resistors (but i don´t have found it on any Shop). The Resistor transform the Mic Input to a Line Input. The Resistor Combination is known as Attenuator. Google it, and you can Do-It-Yourself.
In case anyone is wondering, the panasonic camcorder Ellaskins is using records to PAL which won't work in the North America. The equivalent model in North America is the PV-GS320.
If you have a Flash Media Encoder, the best thing to do is to encode it into FLV yourself.
On Wikipedia you can find the exact settings Youtube uses. That way it doesn't need to be re-encoded by Youtube... I don't know if that's the case today, but it was a while ago. So I stick with that.

Some dj mixers have an additional master output, so thats an option if your mixer has it. I have a vestax pcv-275, which has that option.
I'm sure you can also get an rca cable splitter, which will enable you to record from the single output.
If your camcorder doesn't have a mic input you can always record audio through your pc and then sync the audio and video together.

Ive waited for that video, thanks Johnathan.
That third camera is quiete a monster, where did you nick it ;) ?

Great Vid J!
I use the booth output for video streaming on the internet, can also connect main amplifiers, moniters, whichever is applicable.
For recording purposes the booth slider usually works best just below the centre line.
That's where I usually keep all my faders.
Nice one!

It retails for about $400 to $500 US.
