  • 1:10-1:22 my favourite part!

  • God, Ramin is perfect! ^ - ^

  • Oh dear... Nicky, we love you, but you look a little lost. The big kids are playing here, honey, you don't belong here. Go back home to pop music where it's safe.

  • @modestlyhothomsar trolling? honestly i feel he's better on broadway than in his silly little pop music, after all he did start on Broadway

  • @Aquagirlkatara I'm inclined to agree with both of you. His problem is just that he's a bit inexperienced to play the "big boy roles". He started as Gavroche yes? Though I think he can get better If he just focus on theatre.

  • Nothing personal against Nick Jonas, but he looks incredibly tense through his jaw. Gotta be a major strain on his vocal chords. Doesn't seem like he has proper breath control for musical theatre either. Just sayin'.

  • Ramin your voice takes my breath away

  • Hadley: Here comes like Don Juan!

    Ramin: HEY THAT'S MY ROLE!

Nick Jonas: Hehe I'm In Les Miserables, guys. :D

    Ramin and Hadley:........

  • I like nick as Marius hes young enough. I feel like anyone younger might not be as good. Just my opinion

  • Haha, I love this !

  • I love Ramin's lisp! it is too adorable! Nick did good in this! Guys singing! awesomeness!

sn: Black can also be the color of overwhelming beauty and light. just saying ;-)

  • @CrazyGood88 Ramin has a lisp? I never noticed!

  • @DarlingColette Watch how he talks especially during the interviews and when he is speaking in between songs. Its really very cute on him. Especially with his dimples.

  • nick must have felt so embarrassed, pretty much any guy in the ensemble would have done a better job than him. all the other guys trained like crazy and have so much more experience in musical theatre than him + more talent, I think they deserved a chance.

  • @eveydel

right, cause him starting on Broadway at age 7 is no experience... and the directors of Les Miserables were obviously COMPLETE FOOLS for casting someone they believes should play Marius!

You should try, like, what's that old saying? Not judging a book by its cover? That, or just using your head...

  • I think this version is better than the other one. Hehe. It's got Nick Jonas in it ;)

  • Someone please explain to me... who they would prefer to have seen play Marius, because even though Michael Ball is amazing... I'm sorry but he is far too old to play him now and Nick was a great age for the role and has a lot of experience in Broadway since he was a young child... So I think everyone that judges him is just a hypocrite... He is really good considering it is not his day job!!!

  • @dizzylorraine You sort of said it yourself - I think we would prefer to see someone for whom it IS a day job. Why not cast one of the better loved West End Mariuses from the last 10 years? They'd be more confident in the role and show more acting range. (Also, is someone seriously suggesting Mr. Ball should still play the part? He was wonderful in his time, but that ship has certainly sailed. :D)

  • @dizzylorraine Haha..now it is his day job. ;) And I agree..Nick did an amazing job. I bet about 99.9% of the people judging Nick have never performed on Broadway. That obviously picked him for a reason.

  • We're doing this show at school this year, and the guy who plays Enjolras always sings 'Nobody cares about your lonely soul' haha! I love this scene though :)

  • To those who say that Nick Jonas is good in this, which he isn't, can you explain to me why you think so? Acting: One facial expression and no body language. Looks completely overwhelmed. Singing: Can't hit his notes, extremely nasal and wheezing and, most importantly, if he does manage to hit his note, he can't hold it for an extended period of time. Everyone else, EVERYONE, has no problem doing this, making him stand out even more. And not in a good way....

  • @TheForzalantz

I'm not very familiar with the play, so if he's missing notes I wouldn't necessarily know, but I don't think he did as bad a job as you say. I couldn't pick him out based on performance.

If you ask me, there's a common problem with dead faces here. Pretty much everyone who doesn't have a solo seems to be just standing around.

  • @NiAlBu

He is a little off in a few notes, which in and of it's own isn't so bad, but everyone else is pitch perfect, so he sounds out of place. Anyone of those playing any of the lesser roles in this scene could sing AND act better than him, which is just sad, I'm afraid...

I'm with you with the dead faces on the "backup"-singers, but this is not uncommon when you have this concert format instead of the theatre format, there's a lot standing around, unfortunately...

  • although at first I was angry Nick Jonas had been cast for Marius, I was glad they did after realizing something: just imagine the thousands of girls watching Les Mis for the first time just to see their idol, and realizing this is true music. This is why they cast him, this is why he's there. And for the quality of the musical, Ramin Karimloo and Alfie Boe are good enough to lift the whole performance up.

  • Ramin Karimloo

    best Phantom.

    best EVERYTHING!!!!

  • That guy standing next to Nick is so extremely cuteee :))

  • @hojojiczek If you mean Ramin (Enjolras) then I think everyone has that opinion :P x

  • So far, Hadley's the only Grantaire I've seen who pronounces 'Don Juan' that way.

  • 'Marius you are no longer a child' no you just sound like one.

  • I just watched phantom 25th anniversary last week , and this week I watched les mis 25th anniversary . When Ramin came on , I shouted , omg that's phantom! What's he doing there! Then Hadley came on and nearly died . It was really funny :)

  • I think Nick could have sang out more and added that bit of commitment and just let go and enjoy his character

  • these guys are amasing, gifted and so full of talent, and my wife fancies all of them,, dont no his name but the singer in green,, is heights above the rest , class act young sir ...

  • @woolcott111 The drunkard? That's the role of Grantaire, played by the amazing Hadley Fraser. He played Raoul in the Phantom of the Opera 25th anniversary too. He's excellent.

  • @AccioNerdfighter thankyou very much for your info,, god bless you

  • I am still stunned at the fact that Ramin never had formal training. That, ladies and gentleman, is pure, unadulterated, natural talent.

  • @KatyHallow I saw Ramin today as JVJ with Hadley as Javert, they were both absolutely outstanding. I didn't knew Ramin had no formal training, now I love him even more (and I didn't think that was possible!).

  • Whenever Nick opens his mouth, I just want to say "RAMIN, SHOW THIS BOY HOW TO SING ON BROADWAY, DAMMIT"

  • The cast is so young compared to the 10th anniversary concert

  • I love Ramin's smile!

  • Doesn't he play RAOUL IN PHANTOM?!?!

  • @operagirl121 yes he does :)

  • this song always gives me chills, it is so powerful and perfect

  • "Who cares about your lonely soul." Best line ever written in a musical

  • Ramin <3 He´s incredible!

  • I love this show so much. Every song gives me chills

  • Wait.... did he just say flipping "Don Juan" at 0:38? loll

  • tell me you don't like Ramin Karimloo. I dare you.

  • @TheAngelofmusic12345 OMG!!! LMAAOOO I'm sorry I went to look at the comments and I just laughed at what you said because it sounds like something I would totally say in my musical theater class XD LOVE IT

  • @TheAngelofmusic12345 i would but it would be a dirty rotton lie

  • @TheAngelofmusic12345 Who wouldn't love Noodles?! He's amazing :D

  • @TheAngelofmusic12345 I don't like Ramin Karimloo..............having to share the stage with Nick Jonas

  • Comment removed
