Ugh it hurts my mind as ram and the graphics card failing like that would have consistent problems that I did not see in that video. Did your Brother in law run a ram test such as memtest86? There are no artifacts on your screen in the video, so I doubt that the graphics card is failing. It could have been dpc latency issues that are causing it often brought on by using manufacturer drivers for the usb and sata controllers(one of the few cases that ms drivers are best)

Derp machine problem is probably video card, unless you are only running on 2GB of RAM. If you do have that much Memory, then yes extra RAM would help. A new video card would certainly help with recording with Fraps as I've found out, less frame drop.

@blacksteel25 This guy has the right of it. I've had RAM actually fail and your computer will just crash. If you don't have enough RAM your audio and anything else running would likely stall and it doesn't look like that's happening.

It might not be a graphic card failure persay, but it might be overtaxed. If it has less than 512MB of memory, that would probably do it. Or it could just be shitting the bed, as computer components do.

Probably too late to be useful, derp, as we say.
