Minor is open to judgment--this hit the top 20 in the early spring '66--one of the duo's biggest hits--not to mention the biggest hit version of the much recorded tune.
@dlk008 "Et Maintenant". I like this version best of all the recordings available, though. I am two years younger than Cher, and have been a fan since she (and Sonny) first appeared. I particularly love the "huge noise" backings of some of their recordings - this being a good example.
@dlk008 You're very welcome. You may also care to listen to Shirley Bassey singing it. The version released as a single in 1962 is probably her best. She was about 25 at the time, and approaching the height of her vocal powers. I was 14, and - though it was far from "mainstream pop" the song made a considerable impression on me. The "Bolero" arrangement is a bit corny, but it doesn't detract from the emotional power of the piece.
this song is amazing!!!!! i always love it, but now watching this video, looking the cher´s face when she sang this song, i just can fell me completly, is all that i ever hope
AWESOME!!

Minor? This song and I've got you Babe are the two most beautiful songs they ever did. It sounds like a Phil Spector masterpiece.

Petula Clark, in my humble opinion, does a much better version of this classic.
