Does anyone think obsidian laced edges for knifes would be possible? It can be done with Diamond yes? So why not obsidian?

Obsidian is made from iron, manganese, and silica. I can melt it in a custom furnace (though admittedly it won't have a crystalline structure.)

You think razor blade is sharp?

If this rock is sharpened correctly is it 10x sharper than razors

@longsolid9 its ten times sharper than a surgical scalpel and a lot sharper and probably 20 or more times than razors but would struggle to cut bread without squashing the loaf.... damn loafs

@harryvonlipwig i doubt it would struggle to cut bread as most obsidian blades have a serrated edge on the so you cut with a sawing motion and you go straight through

The obsidian was most likely secured by a treaty between tribes in which foreign obsidian was a barter to secure peace in the region.
