  • Omg! This is my favorite game and I've NEVER heard the music sound lovelier. I wonder if these newer, faster computers are capable of playing the "Roland" soundtrack? I'd love to play this game for my 7 year old. She was entranced watching your video just now.

  • I think I prefer the AdLib version in this case. While the MT-32 doesn't sound bad, AdLib has a sadder tone to it, gving it a lot character.

  • Wow! No idea how much better the musics are with the Roland MT-32!!! Is there MP3 versions of all the musics for KQ4 somewhere with the MT-32???

  • @898doffo It's not an MP3, but the full soundtrack to KQ4 is available on my music channel (search for DilandauMusic on YouTube). The same recordings should also be put on sierrachest [dot] com pretty soon.

  • @Dilandau3000

Thanks! I knew it wasnt an MP3 of the musics, but the actual roland doing its thing. I just wanted the MP3s of the real roland. But I will defenately check out your channel. Thanks!!!

  • @UmLikeJoe What do you mean, this isn't an MT-32? The second version most certainly is.

  • @Dilandau3000 You're right. I hadn't listened to the whole thing.

  • WHOA! That sounds amazing!

  • Why are the "Yes" and "No" choices in green? Mine were always in white. What version is this?

  • Well, now that YouTube supports 15-minute long videos, how about uploading the full intro comparison for us? You can even choose to do Space Quest IV, if you wish. :-)

  • Guilkoza has a version of Dosbox with MT-32 emulation support built in.

You still need the control ROMS put in the dosbox folder (found on torrent sites--not a problem for me since I own an LAPC-1), and to edit the dosbox.conf to point to the built in mt32 emulator. Anyways, I'd say it's about 95% as close to my original LAPC-1. Quite impressive.

  • Wasn't it also the first game to support the Adlib?

  • @koolkitty8989 yes ;)

  • I bought an MT-32 when I was 15 and King's Quest 4 had just come out. Cost me around $530.00. I still have it in perfect condition and still use it on my Sierra games :)

  • @Envisaged0ne Same here. I use mine on my Mac now with DosBox. Check my videos. I have LSL3 playing on it.

  • God I feel so nostalgic. You can't find games like these any more.

  • Reminds me of watching old silent movies...
