@m3g1, yeah, there are. The 06 model has a 20mm longer swingarm, more power, different clutch, different cooling system and various mods engine wise.

will the seat be to tall for me when im 5.9? the r6 09 that i ride now, is like the tallest i can have the seat, so hopefullty this want be any taller? hopefully lower? :P

I agree with "ShootnMove", you should've thrown something over your license plate, especially in the states. There are motorcycle thieves all over the states. Your bike is really nice! I would hate to see it disappear on you. I like the blue and white edition. Yamaha colors! I would also go for the R1 over the GSXR. Not that the Suzuki is a trash bike, its not. Its just that everyone owns one. Yamaha builds a fine racer!

@thozz i have the stock damper on it, but the stock damper is garbage bud... i guess it's better than nothin, but i feel a lot safer with my gpr :) scotts makes a sweet one too!

@thozz the scotts and the gpr mount on top of the triple tree. you can leave the stock damper on still. it wont hurt anything and its out of the way. thats what i did.

i think this 04-06 Yamaha R1's looks the best just get rid of those flopping blinkers and rear fender, lower it alil and im 100% sure it would better than any ducati out their. the only thing i like about ducati 1098 is first of all, the color(very nice red), then the sound and side view of the front.

since this is ur new bike...wats easier to ride? a GSXR or the yamaha(lik handling wise)?? i know the yamaha are lighter but in ur opinion?? a GSX 600 or R6 for a beginer?

for a beginners are both nice, the r6 is much lighter so i would say the r6, but that doesnt mean u cant ride a gsxr as beginner, is much as your choice which bike you want to ride, anyway you should first get it easy on it with every bike so you can get the feeling of the bike´s behaviour on the street

learn ur facts...an 06 gsxr 600 has a dry weight of 365 lbs...an 06 r6 has a dry weight of 366 lbs...pretty much identical..the r6/r1's are not lighter by any means..class dismissed!!! haha

Nice bike bro,I just traded my 05 busa in for a 08 R1,It's the best bike by far personaly,Maybe because I'm a bigger guy,But the R1 really is the best bike for me,Very quick,Very torquey Have fun,And get a speedo the registers after 299,You will be suprised at how fast these puppys get up to,I've got my to 330 then i stoped looking so yeah,PPeace dude,
