I have gone to C:\Windows\System32 click advanced -> owner -> edit and so on but when I'm back at C:\Windows\System32 and click edit and click in the "modify" box and click ok it gives me an error message saying access denied... to bad.

my folder (VistaOSX09) does not have any folders with 32bit or any kinda bit folders and i looked for any dll files to replace but i could not find a one so i skipped that part of it and it and now i still have the default theme when i did all the steps after it. i am on vista. and i am talking about the dll files you have at around 6:62 and at around 7:11. should i just look for a new them that has dll files or can someone help me hear?

I tried it and got everything working OK in Winxp. But I don't like the clutter it leaves inside the Windows/Themes folder - and is a bit patchy and unstable. Compare this to Linux/Ubuntu -- download a theme from gnome-look(dot)org>Right click on Desktop>Change Desktop Background>Themes tab and drag and drop the downloaded file. Neat!!

Follow similar procedure for Login Window-->Systems>Administratio­n>Login Window>Local tab>drag and drop the downloaded file. For boot splash screen-->install Gnome Splashscreen Manager from Synaptic - follow similar procedure or hit install to install. No clutter!

actually all you need to do for xp is go on deviant art click the pic you want then it will get bigger then right click it and do save as.

once done go to your desktop, click properties, then desktop tab, browse , my pictures and the picture is there click it choose if yu want it in center stectch or tile apply and yur done

While the tutorial is good, you kind of sqashed it on the Ubuntu part (-the king of themes/customizations). Also if your system doesn't support Compiz, you could just have incorporated a 0.5 or 1 minute clip on compiz from other videos like you did at the beginning (-after all this video runs to 8.55).

Correction, on Windows XP Home you can do it just the way I specified, even in vista you can, I perfer to use TuneUp so I know it goes thru. But with XP You don't need anything.
