seems like everyones got a problem with this singer.

understand that frode has a good voice for viking/black metal. but this stuff is way to fast and aggressive for his voice. even in his backup vox in this son he is singing the very slow counter parts to the other guy. i wouldnt want frode to ruin this stuff by singing slow through it all, or singing fast and have his voice fall apart. he does have a small voice. FUCKING COOL AND DARK, but small.

Dude, you know nothing about metal. This is thrash metal. Death metal is much less melodic and doesn't use rapid E string strokes frequently. If you knew the differences in genres, you'd know this is straight thrash.

I know a Thrash Metal band when I see it, and this is far from it. 'Arise' by Sepultura and 'Reign In Blood' by Slayer, THAT is Thrash.

And no, a lot of Death Metal IS very melodic. In Flames, At The Gates and The Haunted for example. And Battered resembles that kind of metal a lot more than Thrash.

None of those bands you compared Battered to are Death Metal. Cannibal Corpse, Vader, Behemoth, and Dismember are Death Metal. DM isn't played this quickly. The frequent E strokes and blast beats are a staple of Thrash.

Anyway, i've listened to the whole album. It's actually pretty good. Some high quality thrash. (Yes, the vocalist sucks ass on this song and some others) But that only takes away so little from the album itself.

It reminds me a lot of Holy Moses' "Strength, Power, Will, Passion". Even at some point this guy sounds like Sabina Classen. heh.
