  • nothing can beat Roller Boogie !!!!

  • Can anybody help me get this movie and Roller Boogie on DVD in digital format I'd be forever grateful.

  • Holy shit.. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. It just hurts my brain so bad.

  • New Horizons Disco/Aspen Disco rollers was in this movie, .skate-town USA. New Horizons was a world Class "Spot Rexing team and while making the "Skate town USA, New Horizons was also skating as a Pepsi Cola corporate promotional team that traveled all over the world, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Mexico and the United States>youtube / pappynson / New Horizons.

  • I saw this theatrically earlier this year, and I feel weirdly special about it even though it's pretty awful.

  • I think Avatar is the film that finally took Skatetown USA out as the top grossing movie of all time, but I could be wrong.

  • Flip Wilson and Patrick Swayze were great and we had fun making this film. My best scenes ended up being cut in favor of cute little sexy types...but that was their loss. The director had a lot of distractions at that time, too...it could have been a much better film.

  • @RuthBuzzi1 Wow, the real Ruth Buzzi! Radical!

  • Come to DISCO's Retreat, we've got you!

  • 5: Patrick did all his own skating.

6: Xanadu was supposed to be another roller disco movie, but because both Skatetown USA and Roller Boogie bombed so badly, they rewrote it to focus more on a movie about a muse.

  • 3: Skatetown USA and Roller Boogie were rushing to be the first roller disco movie. They were shot at the exact same time, in locations only a mile apart from each other on Hollywood Blvd. In fact, extras were getting paid from both productions... they'd clock in at one set then duck out to work the other set.

4: The reason you can't rent or buy this movie is because Patrick Swayze was so embarrassed by it, he bought the rights to it and BURIED IT.

  • Here's some Trivia:

1: I skated in this movie. You can see my footwork at 0:43.

2: This isn't really the "Third installment". Both this movie and Roller Boogie came out first in 1979... Xanadu came out in 1980. (I'm assuming you're including that in the "unholy trilogy".

  • this movie WAS the shit back in the day!

  • can't wait to see this when it hits the theaters!!

  • @deadenddrivein Which is the other one in the 'devil's unholy trilogy of godawful 80's roller disco flicks', aside from Roller Boogie...? thnx, this is possibly my favourite genre!

  • What was the other two movies in the unholy trilogy of roller disco flicks ?

  • @CultureCityDetroit one of them is definitely Roller Boogie.. not sure about the other one tho..@deadenddrivein can you help please?

  • Just saw this movie last night theatrically, damn was it awesome. :-D In the worst way possible.

  • Was that voice-over the estimable Don LaFontaine? I think it was. Rest in peace, Don and Patrick.

  • this is the greatest trailer Ive ever seen

  • Love the trailer! Hope it makes it on DVD soon!

  • What were the other two? Roller Boogie and...?? Love 'em all!

  • Does anyone know where I can watch this movie online instead of just the trailer... I have been looking to find it for awhile now but am having no luck, if anyone can help me out please send me a message thanks :)

  • The movie itself wasn't really Oscar material and everybody involved knew it, but this is one of the rare movies that's not even shown or release on DVD. It was fun, plotless, great old late 70s-early 80s cheese thrown in. It didn't take itself seriously. Patrick Swayze would quote this as the "Greatest Piece of Celluloid ever made"....Scott hates this film and doesn't want to say anything about his involvement with the project itself.

  • The most outrageous guys put glitter in their beards?!?

  • @UpTheAnte1987 Would you want to mess with a dude with a beard full of glitter??? I know I wouldn't! LOL

  • This came out in 1979 deadend

  • guy who played swan was micheal beck didlook a lot like patrick guy in this movie also played horseshack in welcome back kotter

  • The girl in the white dress is Katherine Kelly Lang, "Brooke" in The Bold & the Beautiful.

  • @Abril422 I think Maureen McCormick.....Marsha Brady was in this movie too....

  • the greatest story ever rolled LMAO

  • LOL!

  • he was a really cool guy.i thought his fight

with cancer was over, kinda suprised to turn on my pc and find out.Road house blues was cool

  • Thank god this was not his last movie!

  • R.I.P. Swayze

  • who wrote the song?

  • 2:10 Patrick Swayze looks just like Swan from The Warriors!

  • I remember going to see this many times as a kid. I have been a roller skater all my life. About all I remember from this movie is that the way it was filmed, you could not watch the movie without getting a headache. The camera was always moving, spinning, even turning upside down, resulting in a very bad viewing experience. I also remember the skating being better than it really was.

  • 1.13 the most excitement (PEOOOOW)

  • Thank U

  • was a great movie at the time , long time ago !!!

  • Scott Baio, Patrick Swayze, an 18 year old looking Katherine Kelly Lang(of The Bold and The Beautiful), Maureen McCormick, and Ron Palillo{Horshack) together in that only scene for one time. What are the odds of that for having a reunion together? It's like television actors meets two rising stars. I wish there was some DVD release about the movie itself.

  • The glittery beard at 1:16 lol

  • I found a DVD-R of this movie and I will admit, it's a blast to watch. Written by Nick Castle (John Carpenter's buddy) it actually has some funny stuff as well as a soundtrack that will cost about 5 million to license for dvd. There must be over 20 hit songs in this movie. I doubt this will ever be released on any format.

  • saw this in 7th grade!

  • Is this like the white version of Disco Godfather?

  • the 3rd one? this, roller boogie - whats the other one?

  • They did bombed badly in the 70s,but, boy, did they have one killer soundtrack. Better than today's film, that is.

  • Patrick Swayze rollerskates to a cover of the Rolling Stones' Under My Thumb! Oh God, there were some other awful late 70's films like this one - Americana starring John Ritter, Thank God it's Friday, Scavenger Hunt...feel free to add to the list.

  • Damn I saw Americathon in the movie theater!

  • Hey, Billy Barty's in this... and so is J.J. Jackson, one of MTV's original VJs.

I don't think Patrick puts this on his resume anymore...he already has enough trouble finding decent roles these days...

    Thanks a lot, Julie Newmar!

  • One of Patrick's first roles.

  • Scott Baio, Ruth Buzzy AND Swatze....it must be a classic!!

  • A celebration of love...on wheels.

  • maureen mccormick, mmmmmmmmmmmm

  • that was funny! Oooh how times have changed!!!

  • The devil's unholy trilogy.. LOL

This movie does have quite a cast, and just look at Patrick Swayze do his thing under that disco ball!
