Sticks are cool, especially if they are pointy. You can use them on whales and stuff. Arrange the whales into 4 quadrants (designed on a napkin), study Behavioral Econ in classes of 5-10 students, and maintain a 3.65 GPA in a top tier school and your stick poking skills will be superior to everyone else's.
