@kaox44 uh.. the point of pho, is the broth, that the chef takes pride in creating. The authenticity of broth from restaurant to restaurant, is what sets each bowl of Pho apart. Hours of labor, ruined by cheap ass siracha sauce... Probably want some more msg with that sauce(not against msg, its just that msg makes you believe it taste better then it may really be) Might as well go home and get some dam instant ramen and do that same thing..

Good commennt = A good true Pho... You should not put too much sauces... They will kill the flavor of the broth.

Long time ago (1954-58) my family owned a Pho at Sai gon after moved from Ha noi.

Most of the mistake of cooking PHO is : too much "Star Anise" or ginger make the broth tastes like Chinese Medicine.

The whole trick to Pho is this: Cut the raw bones, (you don't cook your stock without bones do you? Of course not!) And the marrow seeps in so tasty with the spices and fish sauce...THEN, add more fish sauce for salt when you get your bowl, THEN add herbs, then whatever spice, in that order. Keep testing, testing is the great part. The range of savory goodness..HEAVEN I tell you!!!. Dang, tomorrows' Friday, I'm making a pot for us, hellz yes..

Hmmm...sounds like you know your stuff. What are your "spices"?...Mine is: ginger, cinnamon, bay leaf, clove, star anise all tied in a bag and then add garlic and onion to the broth for taste.

The best pho ever and real pho eaters should know this, is in Southeast Asia.. You don't even need the siracha and oyster sauce in your pho.. The broth taste so fucking good and everything is made fresh because it's not own by a corporation like fucking Tyson chicken or mcdonalds.. It's so fucking good, so good and so damn cheap.. A family of 7 for eating pho only cost me 12 fucking bucks?? $12.00 to feed a family of 7, lol...
