I remember i had a bleed when i woke up on the 7th morning.. went to hospital and they kept me in for 2 nights... after the first night i woke up and had another bleed.. on the second i didnt bleed at all and havnt bled since.. i am on day 11 now and on a fast track to recovery.. i can see my skin under the thin layer of white what remains there but eating is still a bit discomforting.. i can eat whatever i want but it takes time and precision chewing the damn thing haha :)
I got mine done 6/21/11 and I bled a lot of dark dark red blood and really cold water works for me when it starts hurting or I get Any taste of blood in my mouth maybe you should try ice water it shrinks the vein and stops the bleeding

Where the hell do you live that they're still doing tonsilectomies with under a knife? You wouldn't likely have this problem if they used laser or coblation.

Hemorrhage was quite huge and something in my mouth blocked bleeding so I had to swallow my own blood after that I vomited quite much. I went to first aid center and there it stopped because of lot of ice. before surgery dr. said "after surgery there might be a bit bleeding"
i watched this before i got my tonsils out. biggest mistake ever D: i bled too. but it was in the hospital. woke up after the operation and just started coughin up huge clots of blood. they had to put me back under for a second operation to burn the wounds to stop the bleeding. and they pumped my stomach cuz i'd swallowed a lot of blood. it sucked! :(
i had my nose broken at the top/bridge from eye socket to eye socket....had to have a large operation! 1986/87 uk..bedford hospital....anyways...id been on the waiting list for tosil removal when i got a call from one of the surgery team saying" we can fix your nose on so and so date,and weve been informed your tonsils are to be removed as well...can we do it at the same time!? i said ok!..lol...Now looking @ this vid...all i can say is ...i was very very lucky not to have this issue..gd luck m8

But it all seems worth it so far,as in the long run no more Quinsy every year!

I know that feeling mate - that happened to me, 3 hours later and about 12 bowl fulls and tissue and bloodied towels, they finally cauterised my wound again. Isnt it the most HORRENDOUS thing ever? It doesnt hurt though - just scares the shit out of you!!! 3 weeks ago I had my tonsils removed, one week later that was me! Hope your ok now?
Dude I feel your pain. I bled for 5 hours after surgery- sucking on ice helped clotting. I've been ok since- surgery was 2 days ago. The pain is unbearable.
omg u really need to get this sorted no joke!! i had my tonsils out in the 6 week holiday in england and hemorrhaged 2 times, they kept me in and i hemorrhaged 2 more times ( load of shit :/ ) then had a massive hemorrage and lost 20 bowls of blood and had to be rushed to surgery and nearly had to have to blood transfusions. so i really would get them to sort it out asap ... all the best mate .
well it turned out I was hemorrhaged because the doctor cut two arteries in my throat. I found out after I hemorrhaged for a 7th time on a flight from home. The doctor was surprised I was alive when I arrived to the hospital because I had the same amount of blood as a 7 year old girl. They took me into surgery and fixed me up.
Blood does taste like rust but it's much worse when you digest a lot of it. Your body doesn't appreciate it to say the least.
@Laststepp this happened to my dad and he had to get a blood transfusion because he lost so much blood. im suprised you even digested blood my dad said it bled down his throat into his stomach and he kept puking it up over and over
