I know this was a Story line, but it's never funny to make up a death/ deaths or to make fun of death in pro wrestling or any where in life, after all look what has happen in pro wrestling with all the greats we have lost.
This is so funny if you've seen the Fabulous Ones videos from the same time period, they're pointing to each other's muscles and the jackets without shirts underneath really sold it for me.
Oh yeah, I remember the Jimmy Harts Bruise Brothers. Originally Norvell Austin & Porkchop Cash with "Dream Machine" Troy Graham later replacing Austin. And I remember Jos LeDuc too, that guy was a freakin' psycho!
The best team to wrestle as the "Bruise Brothers" were twin brothers name Ron and Don Harris. They didn't wrestle in Memphis very long. It never looked convincing when they lost a match to another team because they were so much bigger, faster, and physical than anyone else.
I love it! Man, Graham could cut a promo, too. Hey, I don't know what's funnier, this spoof of a Fabulous Ones music vid, or the real Fabulous Ones vids. lol.
Did the Bruise Brothers ever actually wrestle as the New Fabulous Ones or was this just a one off comedy bit? It seems like having them play heel Fabulous Ones would have been a good idea to setup a feud when the original Fabs inevitably returned to Memphis.
Memphis Wrestling had all the creative angles when it came to writing and rivalries. Im glas I had a chance to watch it when I went to my grandparents for visits in the 80's
That was tastless but hilarious as hell. Wow Jo Le Duc one eye stretch tops the Rocks people's eyebrow. AWESOME!!!!! Hey!! like the music!! I like the Gap Band.
The way I remember it, This video aired live the week after David Von Erich's real life funeral video aired on Memphis TV. At age 12 or 13, I still rember thinking it was very tacky timing. Still a great old post, and wrestling immitating life.
And of course.. good ol' Lance just RULED! His reactions to stuff such as this were all his own in the business, and lent a strong air of realism to all types of angles. Inarguably among the best ever.
Man, that LeDuc was/is on a level all his own; even for pro wrestling. Creeeeeeeppeee!!! Hart, as usual, was just great. He never did get a chance to display his all-around abilities as a heel manager and just overall wrestling personality during all his years with WWF, and especially not with WCW later on.
I got to see his last match in Memphis in '95 or '96 at a Monday Night Memories event, and he still SCARED THE HELL out of me as an adult!! He hit Phil Hickerson in the head with the ring bell (looked to be about 50 pounds) and I thought he had killed poor Phil (and they were partners that night!!).
Memphis was simply the best of the old territories. No other territory could touch Memphis in terms of creativity and the wrestlers that were there. I miss this stuff!
Lacked the homo-eroticism of the original Fabs, but hilarious nonetheless. Jimmy Hart, as always, is a classic with the "Today is the greatest day of my life!" bit that seemed to open every Memphis promo he did.
fantastic

They did wrestle as the New Fabs. Bart/Mark Batten replaced Dream Machine in the team after Dream's car accident.
rolochoshu 3 years ago
@nwajoe I believe they also did have a feud with the Fabs but I think it was the Eddie Gilbert/Tommy Rich Fabs though

Although, Vince did do an angle with Big Show's "dad".

Jos LeDuc should be at every memorial service. Jimmy got through all five stages of grieving rather quickly. That was rather funny. Thanks.
