  • is this a great song or what I could listen to this stuff all day

  • Actually, it makes me feel happy to BE old, and to have grown up in the 60s and 70s...

  • @andyr1313 I grew up then too, but I am not old yet! I do shere you taste in music, thought, if this is a good example.

  • Yes, tposlusny, listening to this music makes me feel happy and old at the same time!

  • this music brings back a wonderful time in my life, thanks guys for rocking in the 60's

  • Still like The Buckinghams. Saw them live before they became 'somebody'. Must of been the winter of 65' or 66 at Chicago's 'Custom Car & Hot Rod Show'. Me and my bud Johny were walking around and then heard some music and went over. They were fabulous. I think they played there for free :-) Now the Buckinghams play at Chicago suburban 'Village Fests'. Saw them a couple years ago, still good.

  • Produced by James Guercio who later produced many "Chicago" hits!

  • Just another great Chicago band!

  • omg! I can listen to this 100 x, incredible voice, great music, thank you for bringing back the memories, 60's rock better than any time, peace & love

  • You're welcome, Raquel5750-san!!

  • I think Chicago was influenced by the Buckinghams

  • @harveyw1129 i suppose so

  • Love this song. I love the dissonance and back-up music. I feel sorry for today's kids. They don't know real music from NOISE.

  • Oh my!! This song made me cry!!! Brought back a memory.

  • Sweet.... brings back tremendous memories

  • Many Thanks for this Post!!

I had thought this was their best song. Loved the way the lead singer sang the end of the song with real sensitivity to time and spacing. Just Wonderful!!

  • You're very welcome, ritagalang-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • The best 60's tune

  • so simple yet so deep

  • Makes me proud to be a Chicagoan. The Buckinghams were from the same part of town where I grew up. I remember hearing at the time they played at a kid's club in my neighborhood that my sister belonged to and went to see them. Also, there's always someone who knows someone who knows them, but at least I was there in the vicinity! Great songs and this one was their first hit!

  • The fact that this song is 44 years old makes my dick shrink. Wait. I'm 63. It already did!!

  • @smokiebird06

That is one of the funniest lines I have ever heard!!

I am 58 and I think I may suffer from the same anomaly!

  • If you were around in the 60's you remember what a truly great time it was for music. An incredible number if groups and styles but it all seemed to fit. Thanks for this posting.

  • You're welcome, smokiebird06-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • You're welcome, mphemh-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • Damn these guys were great, and one of the early groups to feature a fantastic horn section (at least, provided by the recording studio).

  • They always had really great drums in their recordings.

  • @MrRonnieG Hal Blaine on drums....

  • Thanks!!! Brings me back to my early teens!!

  • You're welcome, 01redlightning-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

    MMMMMMMMMmy my my my baby!

  • You're very welcome, teresadoyle-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • One of the best and most unappreciated groups of all pop/rock history.

  • This is the great music I listened to in 1967 on my way to and from Laredo Air Force Base from Ohio! A 1500 mile drive! Groups like the Electric Prunes, and Every Mother's Son! Music took a real turn with the arrival of The Doors that year! JJ!

  • LOVE this song!

  • Cool late 60s early 70s tune!

  • Classic :)) ktf

  • Loved this group! Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories!

  • You're welcome, Ursa3470-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • one of my favourite tunes that i sang and played in my first band. writing a song with words and melodies like this is a true work of art in music...

  • For some reason Kind of a Drag started running through my mind the other day...out of nowhere. I looked it up on here, just to hear to again. I had forgotten about Don't You Care, which is a great song; excellent. I'm glad I stumbled across it again.

  • Always appreciate your channel, more power.!

  • Thank you, npenciso-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • this brings back alot of good memories

  • A very cool, well composed yet colorfully haunting song that hasn't lost its touch.

    Pure classic 1960's pop/rock.

  • My favorite part is

"I want to know I want to know will you ever love me again or will I find out that this the end"

  • WOW , great stuff, thanks for the memories of some great times. i wonder if she ever checks these out. hope everyone has the same thoughts of the 50s -70s music that i have. always brings a smile, thanks again so much, jg

  • You're welcome, novemberunderground-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • Great melody. backup harmonies. horns, arrangement, analog recording!

This band was/is Top Shelf. Better than anything I saw at the GRAMMYS.

They just don't write like this anymore. More the pity. If you lived back then cherish it for for it was a magic time that will never come again.

  • This was a great band, with their talented lead singer, Dennis Tufano, and the other great musicians.

  • A thoughtful, cool groove. It would be nice if most people did care...this world of

    ours, could use it.

Thanks for all of your fantastic music posts, Otaku3!

  • You're welcome, artuvaas-san!!

  • This song is comparable to another great 60's band 'The Beau Brummels' 'Laugh Laugh' and 'Cry Just a Little'. Awesome. But I will always favor The Buckinghams.

  • Otaku3-san , another great post. Keep it up my friend.

  • One of the greatest songs of the 60's.... The Buckinghams were overshadowed by the "British invasion" unfoutunately..... !

We are so very lucky to have music lovers around the world and the Buckinghams continue to bless us.....!

  • 12/27/10 ... Thank you and happy new year!

  • You're welcome, CIB67-san!!

I hope you and your family are enjoying this holiday season.

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • I remember my brother bought this great album when we were in high school. I saw them in concert twice. Once concert, they played a mix of some Beatle songs which they did very well. Thakjs for sharing this.

  • You're welcome, Gazelle53-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)b

  • northern soul classic. big all-nighter sound.

  • Love The Buckinghams! Their other three hits released in 1967 are just as good, too ("Kind of a Drag", "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" & "Hey, Baby (They're Playing Our Song". One of Chicago's best!

    R.I.P. John Poulos...1947-1980.

  • love this

    近年の彼らのCD(コンピレーションを含む)は

    ブラスが付いたバージョンにすべて変わっているようですね。

    別掲で私がアップしたものも後者でした。

    録音状態も微妙に違う気がするので

    ジェームスガルシオの指揮下で再録でもしたのでしょうか。

  • I have a question to the old Hippies - Which member of the Buckinghams went on to a career in Law enforcement in Arizona or New Mexico? Getting pulled over by him would be great a memorabilia ticket!

  • This is the stuff!

  • Always loved em'!

  • Was John Guerin the drummer on this?

  • The drummer of this time was John Poulos.

  • I am from NYC, and always loved that Rock & Roll / Jazz horn music from Chicago....it was the sound that was unique, and rocked the sixties........Love the Buckinghams who started the brass rock music of the 60's.....Gotta love it!

  • I love this song and the way they performed it on the Smother Brother show. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I love Dennis Tufano voice. Thank God for U-Tube to see you guys again. Fan 4ever.

  • THIS IS CHICAGO SOUND! JUST AWESOME!

  • 07/20/10 .. I was In vietnam all of 67 and remember this song from Arm Forces Radio 'Good Morning Vietnam!'

  • @CIB67 ..So was I. Remember it all to well.

  • @CIB67 i'm glad you made it back home out of that hell hole! GOD BLESS YOU.

  • I feel like I am 17 again.

  • Great memories...love the "Chicago Sound"! Thank you, friend....

  • You're welcome, tropicalpancake56-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • Originally they were from the Chicago area. They moved to the west coast to further their career. Always liked this group. Susan was a great song too. Kind of a drag wasn't . . . a drag. Always had nice horn work in the background of a lot of their songs. Better than most of that era. Thanks for posting. Got to get the Buckinghams on my ipod.

  • You're welcome, pmoyer50-san!!

  • Thank you again, Otaku. Your collection of songs is a very fine one. It brings back many memories of the 60s. Also, the quality of the sound you post is excellent. It sounds like vinyl, not CDs. Am I correct? I still have a turntable and about 200 LPs to play through my stereo system, at the heart of which is a monoblock Onkyo Integra amplifier.

  • Thanks for your kind comment, Unidente02-san!!

Yes, I am always ripping a sound from the CD.

And I promise myself to offer all sounds with best quality as much as possible.

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • I saw them in concert last night and this was the first song they sang. Great band!!

  • A gem from the past. Brilliant !

  • Heard this song four days ago on an oldies station (WDRC 102.9 in Hartford) and haven't been able to get it out of my head since. What a great song!

  • cant you see, you're hurting me DONT YOU CARE? :))

  • When you came into my life, this was our song.. still have the 45 you gave me...

  • i like this song. we have a band (1960s) and this was one of their songs. but only a few people really knew them. thanks for posting. i have the vinyl record and i don't a player now. thanks for this

  • You're welcome, son12pab34-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • Yes, they are good, however, they would not have as successful had it not been for Gary Beisber and Jim Hollvay writers of many of their songs. These writers were a part of a group called The Mob and this group was tops. It has puzzled me for years that they never made it to the top.

    The Mob had fantastic musicians.

  • Another one of those underestimated bands of the 60's. Thanks for posting this song.

  • You're welcome, trophybob-san!!

    Otaku3 d(^_^)b

  • The older these songs get, the more precious they become. Thanks for posting.
