  • my mom was in this storm very sad time for her,,,,i wish i could get the newpaper clippings she was in the paper with a picture of her house that the storm destroyed..

  • I was 9 durig this storm &lived in Lamar Terrace..it tore up all the palm trees & ripped off roofs. I member the flooding was so bad, you could see snakes & floating red ant beds.....

  • I was seven when Carla came through Houston; we lived in Pasadena just south of where Hwy 610 (it was Channel City Road back then) crosses the Ship Channel. I remember my father tapping up the windows and our entire family sleeping in the hall of our home to be away from flying glass. After the storm passed the water was up to the front doors of the all the houses the entire length of the street.

  • It is hard to believe that many boats up the river. As soon as I the bridge I knew right where it was at.

  • wow, such rare footage. i do believe this was the largest hurricane (in terms of diameter) to hit the US.
