This skit is so funny! Farron and June, what a match up. The rest of the Carters and Becky Bowman do a great song here. This is the country music I miss. This music was made for the farm folks of the time. Farron Young was raised on a dairy farm in Louisianna. It must of been hot milking cows down there! Bet he preferred singing! Can any one post some June Webb songs, she used to sing on the Grand ole opry on occasion but mostly she is sitting on a bale of hay lookin pretty!
You're right, the Carters would use her as a standin when Helen got pregnant and after that they decided to keep her on as a stand-in if one of them couldn't make it.
@ndelliot Becky was with the Carters through the 1950s as a backup whenever there was a pregnancy leave, until she got married herself and started having kids. She remained close to the girls for the rest of their lives (June named her older daughter "Rebecca Carlene" after Becky and June's first husband, Carl Smith). Becky died in 2008.

Great video, but who was on the double bass?

I think it's Becky Bowman. She played with the Carter Sisters.

June was as country as cornbread and grits. She's outsinging the angels now. Bless her
